Injuries piling up for Florida

Whatever makes you feel better friend...you've been right here stalking my posts, so I guess we're one in the same.

(Actually its called PTO...maybe you've heard of it.)

Stalking and jawing at each other at the exclusion of other posters isn't the same thing. And see, you called me friend whether you mean it or not. It's nice to end the little tit for tat without bitterness and anger. Not a lot of people can do that. :hi:

As everyone knows, Florida lost a lot of their 11-2 team. Their Offense is returning 6/11 starters and their Defense is only returning 3/11 starters from last year.

However, in their preseason/Spring depth chart they've lost an additional 5 starters for the 2013 season due to various injuries. All of these were predicted starters. The bold names are returning starters.

MLB Morrison - suspended due to arrests. It's Florida, arrests don't matter.

RG Halapio - torn pectoral. Should be back for season but losing Fall Camp time. Can't get cleared for at least another full week at best.

LG Garcia - back. He should be in playing shape, but back injuries take a long time to heal and rigors of football don't allow much healing time.

QB Driskel - emergency appendectomy. Will miss multiple weeks of camp at best.

RB Matt Jones - severe viral infection. This was just announced. No specifics but it sounds like it could be very bad for him.

It's probably a matter of time before we hear CWM has aneurism in the midst of another hate-fueled tantrum. I can dig a passionate/emotional coach, but this guys loses his stuff sometimes.

Last year is the first year in recent memory when I thought we were in trouble against UT based on our first two games.

I cant think of another year after 2003 where I didn't think we had the better team.
There might have been one year in there but I wouldn't argue the point over it.

florida is beatable--they have a bunch of problems on offense. D will be decent but not as good as last year. UT can pull the upset if they can score 24 points. fla will finish 3 in the SEC east behind ga and sc.

2006...but for a bad call, a late UT int of Leak would have put the game out of reach for UF

With Patterson, Hunter and Bray UT scored 20 at home.

But you're suggesting 24 in Gainesville with an entirely new set of skill players.

Please share with us how you'd work George Zimmerman into your recruiting pitch.

After all, Sanford is only 2+ hours away from Gainesville.

It didn't take RCooper or that witness Rachel in the Zimmerman trial to break the news that Florida is full of "crazy crackers" (i.e., racists). UGA couldn't use this tack, however, as GA is full of proud crackers too.

Everyone is beatable but Florida has considerably more depth than we do and not nearly as much ground to gain <pun> as we do on O. If we score 24 in Gainesville then they will have given us points bt bad play or some such.

They are better defensively seriously our best hope is to stay close and luck out at the end. If we get into a match-up game with them, we're screwed.

That totally explains High Freeze's Top 5 class at Ole Miss.

Try again...

No, but he coaches in that progressive state called Mississippi.

No history of poor race relations to exploit there at all. :loco:

Alabama's had much publicized race problems too.

I guess it'll be SoCal, Michigan, LSU and UT grabbing Will's prize prospects. [UT already has some.]

Right, Florida is doomed.

I remember someone here predicting a 5-7 season last season for UF...started a thread on it and everything.

I don't remember that. But it begs the question of why you would waste your valuable time debating someone with no credibility.

I take it the answer is "no."

You mean "veteran" like RSF Johnny Manziel was 12 months ago?

Another post for the time capsule. :eek:lol:

UT hasn't settled on a starting QB yet, but you're already comparing him to last year's Heisman winner.

Guys the excuses here are getting old. Injuries have not been a factor in our losses against Florida. We've been outcoached, manhandled physically and their talent has been superior to UT's for many many years now. While I believe Butch will have us relevant again and competing against the top of the SEC, the sad fact is that UF has by far been the more successful program this decade, and the explanation is great coaching and great talent. Period.
