Injuries - 2 O-linemen out for Bama?

Anyone find it odd that no one was wearing a green jersey at practice yesterday? We obviously have some battered and bruised players, and many are bandaged or wearing braces. Is Butch trying to send a message to toughen up? Any insights?

May have been no contact thoughout. Maybe just "thuddin"

Bad Karma to be knocking injured players...players in general unless they're quitting. Practically nobody goes to work with the intent to f@*k-up....things happen and sometimes it gets the best of you....these young men are giving a lot more for the team than posters...unless there are players in the forum. Thomas was the #9 center in the country last year....he must be pretty damn good. Playing tackle is a whole different skill set than center....and he's still 18 to boot so there are other challenges some have expanded on previously. OL need to find something to get it together, but I doubt anyone here knows the real answer...

It looks like we may be down 2 starting linemen (Jackson & Thomas) against Bama according to this article from Rocky Top Insider

The good news is Worley appears to be OK after the shoulder injury against Ole Miss. I will be interested to see how he performs when he has to throw the ball deep against Bama.
I really thought we would have seen Josh Smith by now. That high ankle sprain must have been more serious than we thought.

SIAP- this is the first I have seen of the injury status.

DO you think the fans are selling their tix now..God I hope there is not 40K Bamers there.:thud:

All of you coming on here and bashing a guy, an 18 year old, because he is playing in the toughest conference in the world and getting beat. All of you coming on here probably couldn't block the sun if we gave you an umbrella but yet it makes you feel better to talk crap about a guy having to learn under fire. Kid gets injured and you want to make it out to be a good thing? Just wtf is wrong with you? There are rare occasions that a true freshamn can come in and start, but most of the time you get what we have. UT has been delt a bad hand by our previous coaches. Let's try to be supportive of the process of the rebuild. Life is bearly long enought to get good at one thing, and for some of you, the only thing you are good at is bit***ng and moaning. Be careful at what you get good at.

If Gilliam is going to play, I would rather him and Kerbyson switch. I'll trust the coaches though. I also think that Gilliam is an upgrade at RT from Thomas. Thomas will eventually be a good player, but is clearly not ready yet.

Couldn't find anywhere and thought this may be an okay place to ask.... is it possible for Josh Smith to get a medical redshirt?
