Im new to the recruiting game, when will the entire Rivals rankings be out? Also, how soon do they start ranking teams by their recruiting class?

I'm just saying...since we are in we are all star gazing now...I like it!

Stars only count when we pick up the player. If we pick up a low star player they weren't rated properly or didn't go to enough camps. You would think Bama would stop trying to have the top rated recruiting class.

This past October, I watched him play against Wilson Central (where my daughter goes) and he really didn't impress me. I don't know if he was just having a bad night or what. I'm not a coach, but it appeared to me that he ran too straight up. He took a couple of hard licks because of that. I don't remember exactly how many yards he had but I think it was 80 or so. Beech had a great team even without him. That was only one of two losses for Wilson Central.

You could definitely say "off night". Dead-legged in the prior game and could hardly walk (much less run). IMO he shouldn't have played because I think it led to his shoulder injury and not playing the rest of that game. If that is the only game that you've seen him play, you don't have an accurate assessment of Hurd. If I recall, that was the only game that wasn't absolutely stellar. Who was the other loss for Wilson Central?

Lorenzo Carter, Deshaun Watson, Jalen Hurd, Jalen Tabor, Blake Bars (instate, but we're not in on him yet), Dillon Bates, Todd Kelly, Demarre Kitt, Nick Chubb.

I like it. Can't believe Hurd is just a 4 star. If anyone is a 5, he is.

Bars is the one who has older brothers playing college ball? We are in on him. He has an offer and has talked with the staff on more than one occasion. He seems to be interested.

I read earlier that the rest of the 250 will be released tomorrow.

He had 3k plus in 13 games. Wasn't he injured around that time?

Its Alex Bars, his older bro is Blake but any who I read an article on him today where he said Ohio St is recruiting him the hardest. He said he wants to visit OSU, Florida & s. Car. he ended it by saying he wants to get over to Tennessee & see what the new staff has going on. So there's some intrigue there. Its crazy this could very well be the best class we've seen around Tn in maybe the last 5 or 6 year. #GBO

I watched the kid play in the state semifinals against Northside High School out of Jackson TN, S/O to Jackson, but anyway Northside was the No. 2 team in the state & they also entered that game 12-0, it was a good game for majority of the game but this guy just completely ran over Northside to the tune of maybe 350 yds. He does run upright & thats due to his size, he's a vertical guy hit a hole & everything from there is strictly North & South with him. Now if your looking for that agility back who has the ability to cut back on a dime & make guys miss then Hurd's not your guy I'm not even sure he has the hips to grow into that guy but he's young & still developing. With that being stated do I want him wearing ORANGE & WHITE next year? YOU DAMN RIGHT!!!!

#1 class the past 3 years and #5 class the year before all of that (Rivals ranking). It's almost too easy for them.

I actually only made it to a couple of Beech games this past year, but it does seem to me he may have been injured or coming off an injury around that time. Could be wrong though, and hate that I missed so many games.

4 players in-state. Tennessee only had 8 in the prior 8 years
Tennessee is producing more and more top talent, this year we got to put a top on that fence everybody talks about plus if Kelley would commit early the other top talent would look at us stronger.

The best news about these top rated instate players is that none of them are in memphis.
:ermm:

Not sure what you mean by this? Butch has better connections in Memphis than he does in East or Middle TN. So giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'm going to assume you mean that it's good because we can get a bunch of highly rated players from outside Memphis, where CBJ might not necessarily be as strong in recruiting, and then use his relationships in Memphis to pull quality kids from a city rich with talent to form the ultimate squad.

If you really think we can rebuild without Memphis then you are part of the problem, not the solution. It will take all corners of the state to rise again.

The higher rated kids in memphis haven't become vols much lately. That was my point

While true, we did pull Carr, and I believe that Petera Wilson is from White Station as well. So, we'll have a teammate on our roster.

Hopefully that is a help, but you never know with these sorts of things.
