This past October, I watched him play against Wilson Central (where my daughter goes) and he really didn't impress me. I don't know if he was just having a bad night or what. I'm not a coach, but it appeared to me that he ran too straight up. He took a couple of hard licks because of that. I don't remember exactly how many yards he had but I think it was 80 or so. Beech had a great team even without him. That was only one of two losses for Wilson Central.
Lorenzo Carter, Deshaun Watson, Jalen Hurd, Jalen Tabor, Blake Bars (instate, but we're not in on him yet), Dillon Bates, Todd Kelly, Demarre Kitt, Nick Chubb.
I like it. Can't believe Hurd is just a 4 star. If anyone is a 5, he is.
He had 3k plus in 13 games. Wasn't he injured around that time? This past October, I watched him play against Wilson Central (where my daughter goes) and he really didn't impress me. Stars only count when we pick up the player. If we pick up a low star player they weren't rated properly or didn't go to enough camps. You would think Bama would stop trying to have the top rated recruiting class.
Tennessee is producing more and more top talent, this year we got to put a top on that fence everybody talks about plus if Kelley would commit early the other top talent would look at us stronger.:rock:A few notable names
#9 Lorenzo Carter
#11 Deshaun Watson
#15 Jalen Hurd
#17 Bo Scarbrough
#27 Jalen Tabor
#45 Racean Thomas
#55 Alex Bars
#58 Dillon Bates
#59 Todd Kelly Jr
#67 Demarre Kitt
#72 Josh Malone
#95 Nick Chubb
#98 Stanley Williams
4 players in-state. Tennessee only had 8 in the prior 8 years
:ermm:The best news about these top rated instate players is that none of them are in memphis.
:ermm:
Not sure what you mean by this? Butch has better connections in Memphis than he does in East or Middle TN. So giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'm going to assume you mean that it's good because we can get a bunch of highly rated players from outside Memphis, where CBJ might not necessarily be as strong in recruiting, and then use his relationships in Memphis to pull quality kids from a city rich with talent to form the ultimate squad.
If you really think we can rebuild without Memphis then you are part of the problem, not the solution. It will take all corners of the state to rise again.
