Initial Injury Report

Already did this in a prior thread.

Florida = Cupcake Game

And just in case anyone really thinks Florida is toothless, this was their injury report prior to Ole Miss -

View attachment 790873Now Florida didn't do too bad down in Oxford, and that one was on the road. Ole Miss's defense finally shut them down in the second half. I don't know how Tennessee's defense compares to Ole Miss's, but ... yeaaaah ... I'd advise folks tread lightly on those expectations.
Depends on how you look at Ole Miss' defense. Either way, they aren't very good. Their overall stats for the season are better than ours, with the exception of rushing defense, where ours has been better. If you look at performance against common opponents, in which there have been four thus far, the defensive stats have been nearly identical for both teams.

Yeah, I didn't see yours until after I posted.

Have to respectfully disagree on expectations. Florida is bad. This is the same Florida team who lost by almost 5 touchdowns to Kentucky. There's no excuse that can be offered for losing this game. They're 3-7 because they suck. Beat them. Get up by a couple scores and keep throwing bombs.

Gibson was lost for the season in Game 1. That's been reported all year. Yet people keep acting like he could come back. He was never coming back. Didn't matter how may times it was said, our fans kept asking.

RICKEY GIBSON WAS INJURED AND LOST FOR THE SEASON AGAINST SYRACUSE. WE HAVE KNOWN THIS FOR MONTHS.

I'm not sure how else to convey this information.
So Gibson may be back for Vandy? Got it.

….. I think most know this. I’m just lumping the Dbs together. Suppose I could’ve specified.

Hey that's fair. It wasn't my post, I was just pointing out the thread since it was more or less about the same injury report. But as for the excuses, I won't say there's any valid excuses, I can agree with that. I'm just not keen about underestimating Florida based on that injury chart. It looks bad, but doesn't really tell me much about how serious those losses are for Florida's starting 22, backups, etc.

By all means, bombs away. Fast, hard, no mercy.

he worked his hardest the week of New Mexico St trying to get ready to play. Experienced soreness and has now shut it down.. Many won't believe it but he has been trying to get healthy and get back to play...
He is a competitor and being on the sidelines is not something he wanted to do.

I have never once thought McCoy phoned in the season. Even in the best case scenario I knew coming back from a knee injury like that in less than a year was highly unlikely, and there's absolutely no point in risking it now. I really hate it for the young man and I hope he goes on to have fantastic NFL career!

Sad. I figured he was trying to get back on the field. This has to affect his draft stock.

The NIL crew padded their bank account and never saw the field. Times are changing with these kids getting paid. They owe us a year before they bolt or pay it back. JMHO

no different than professional athletes who get hurt and miss a season. they still get there million dollar pay.. the difference in these cases are, college athletes are paid for apperances and being hurt doesn't prevent that, just playing..

Should kids that the coaches chose to not play pay back their NIL? Like Mac and Merk? Morris? Smith and Jackson?

Pay the ones you mentioned less. I question effort and desire. Kids are “opting out” in college so they stay healthy for their pro opportunities. It’s different because if they are pro on IR unless they are cut or traded they come back. These 2 will never see neyland again. Just sad to me.

Where does effort and desire come into trying to rehab from an acl injury? If there wasn’t any of that why would he have been going through practice trying to get back on the field? Our former all-American? You really are questioning this guys effort?

I'm sure the one's I mentioned get less... everyone's NIL is not the same. its based on demand, opportunities from fans or businesses.. If Pilot Oil wants to pay McCoy a million bucks to go to their sites and sign autographs they can come to that agreement, if he plays or not.

I agree on effort and desire but again NIL has nothing to do with playing or even being at UT. In example above, if Pilot wants to pay McCoy, they can agree to pay him for appearances, even if not enrolled.
