1. Failing head coach - stick with him a season too long or at the very least (2017) 4 weeks to long.
2. D-Line terrible at stopping the run and getting pressure, name DL coach interm HC.
3. Let an interm HC dismiss one of the best offensive players on the team.

Get ready for disappointment for this coaching search.

BTW I welcome the trolls bashing.

Now we have our worst football season in Vols history. I am sad for the players who have to carry this moniker for life.

Won't be long now til we find out who the next HC is. Can it be any worse?

Currie wasn't here to let Butch stick around a year too long. Firing a coach midseason is meaningless whether you do it during week 4 or week 11.

Would you have rather let Scott run the team? Yeah, I wouldn't either

You can't make that kind of profanity laced tirade and keep your job at any college institution.

After reading the latest report, I'm in favor of getting rid of Jennings. But yes it's a terrible admin, has been since Fulmer was fired at homecoming. Beginning of a long ride.

After this debacle, Currie either announces an A+ coach (Peterson or GRUDEN) or he should be fired on the spot. He was absent and incompetent- but that’s what you get when you hire for a position you cannot do.

Had we won, we could survive with a B+ or A rated coach, but Mullen and below won’t cut it now

If you think they should have let Jennings stay on the team you're crazy. He needed to be shown the door. Im sick and tired of all the over reaction to everything. We are a terrible football team with a terrible fan base. And dont give the mediocrity crap either. I want to win every single game nothing is worse than watch Tennessee look like they have this season.

So you're of the opinion that the interim coaching group totally turned things around and righted the ship?

Butch needed to go. I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that, but firing him 4 weeks earlier wouldn't have made much difference except giving everyone somebody else to be pissed at for losing.

1. Fair, but to say it is meaningless to fire a coach midseason is only opinion. It is impossible to predict what might have happen had the head of the snake been chopped off before it was; maybe better, maybe worse. But I would bet the fan base would be happier.

2. No, also were you actually asking me or just trying to inject a narrative?

3.Not exactly sure what you are referring to

Talk about overreacting? lol. The kid made a stupid video about a coaching staff that will be nonexistent by the end of the month. I'm not saying he shouldn't be punished, suspend him for the season or even indefinitely, but don't dismiss him because....I'm a temp with integrity? I guess.

Well if we had kept CBJ until the end of the season, we would have the same record but CBJ would have 2 more losses to pad his resume with.

At least the administration realized last year that they should extend his contract or give him anymore raises.

Did you want Hart to make the football hire last year? Or are you just showing your ignorance, since Currie has been on the job since April?

Hoke did such an excellent job as interim though. I'm shocked we didn't make a change sooner. It may have salvaged this season.

1. Maybe, tough to say if it would be any better.

2. In my title I said TN Admin not Currie specifically, are you assuming or just showing your complete and utter lack of reading comprehension? The Admin department is more than just one person.

Many of you need to just go ahead and jump off your ledge. We are better off without you

The two biggest ones are the AD (hired in April) and the Chancellor (hired in February). So, the biggest and most in charge in regards to firing weren't even here at the end of last season. And we know Hart was gone in June of 2016. There's no way in hell they were going to make the hire.

Hart shouldn't have been on the retirement cruise all of last year. His replacement should've been lined up and announced to take over when he publicly announced he was retiring. It was basically an entire year the admin said...whatever..and let the ship float where ever it wanted to go. Can't make any decisions with a retiring AD. Looks like a big fat built in excuse now, doesn't it?

Maybe, but the fact that Currie remains mute through the process gives me hope. I will give him this, if he plays poker like he does a coaching search? He would take 8 out of ten hands. Think about it; all these rumors swirling around and all we really know is it ain't Chip Kelly, and Patterson got a raise so he seems out.

I fully expect to hear a coach say he has heard nothing from Tennessee in the evening, and him doing our PC the next day. It can get worse if we have a rape scandal like Vanderbilt had. But the fact that this time the flow of real information is nonexistent? After the overload of info we got in the last three searches, I am feeling pretty damn good about it for some reason.

Yeah, it's safe to say there has been some incompetent move before. But we can hope that the right people have told the wrong people to move over and let them fix this. It's really all we can do for now.

WHEN are you and others going to take off those Orange Colored Glasses. UT is barely a top 25 program. Major hires are NOT coming to UT. You obviously cant pay them enuf. They are not even getting to the point of talking money......UT is being turned down before they get to that point. If is a given that most is not going to be happy with the new hire. Maybe it will be ALL we can get. :hi:
