Incoming freshmen?

I think everyone made it with the exception of Corey Henderson, who appears to be headed to Juco in Texas.

What does his personality have to do with anything?

Thread title brings a grin. When I was a UT student, there was a movie filmed at UT called Incoming Freshman. Had nothing to do with football. Surely, over the course of VN history, there is a thread about that somewhere.

He's here.

I wonder if he's as big and imposing in reality as he is on paper.

I once saw Al Wilson on campus before he went to Denver and he looked bigger than his listed height and weight. It's all about distribution.

I've never met Mr. Wilson but it's funny you say that because usually the opposite is true for me. Players that I meet in person never seem as big to me as what their measurables say. The ONLY exceptions to that were Tiny Richardson and Daniel McCullers. Those two specimens were absolutely as big as listed to me!

First time i met Reggie White...I was going UP the stairs in Gibbs Hall...he was coming DOWN...

I've never seen anyone that big in person since...

EDIT: 'cept for 1987 staying @ The Hyatt, Greenwich Connecticut where Andre The Giant was living...sitting next to him @ the bar. Drunk Andre (was) INTIMIDATING!

Only guy I remember being as big as listed or possibly bigger when I was a student at UT was BIG John Henderson. That guy was a massive human being.

I remember seeing Henderson standing on the sidelines, how he just seemed to dwarf everyone else who was standing around him.

I'm kind of curious why they aren't listed on the roster yet?

Because the person who is responsible for making changes to the official website has not been told by their boss to add them, I would imagine.

Just guessing, but the main delay might be connected to Tyler Byrd ending up at WR. I am sure once they nail the final decisions on who wears what number, they will post it.

You don't want some player's third cousins from God knows where that they never hear from ordering the wrong number jersey based on a roster that isn't set in stone for this season.

Agreement on Henderson.

One more:
Shazzon Bradley ( I think was listed to play around 250 ??)

JJ McCleskey (not a big as he played but, "it's not the size of the dog in the fight but, the size of the fight in the dog") He was fearless.

Not football but UT basketball Tyler Smith.

Shook Monte's hand when he coached here. He was very tall and has the biggest hands I have ever seen.

JJ is an amazing story, was telling my son about him the other day after hearing Kippy Brown mention him in a speech recently. Lived in Reese Hall with JJ in 1987....we used to goof on him on the intramural fields. Absolutely nothing special out there athletically, was short (of course), was fairly muscular, had abnormally wide/broad shoulders. I was absolutely shocked to see him running around in Neyland a few years later, on both sides of the ball, and playing quite well....all while becoming a beloved fan favorite. Just an amazing story, especially after seeing him then go on to a 7-8 NFL career. Kid turned out to be tough as nails, something you certainly could never know by playing intramural flag football against him.
