to quality wins.
We all are making mistakes. The fans, coaches, and players.
The thing is, we are almost there.
It hurts like hell to lose the big games. I wanted Florida s ass bad.
In reality, we ARE a young team and do not have the depth and quality players some of the other teams do.
If you look at the last few years it is obvious we are improving and getting close.
Personally, I think Butch loves UT and has his heart and sole in our program.
If we show some patience, I believe our time will come, and soon.

What are the fan's mistakes? Filling up Neyland? Checkering the stadium? Traveling by the thousands to Gainesville?

i want to get over this thing quickly. and honestly i'm jealous of all of you that have, and still believe.

but we just got beat by FL's true freshmen qb throwing to a true freshmen WR, blocked by 3 FR o linemen, coached by a 1st year coach.

stop it with the youth. plus we were up 13. we had the game won. are we young? yes, we are. is it the reason we lose? no, it is not.

Patient? this has nothing to do with CBJ. it's year 3 for him.

but for us as fans? we're 5-20 against FL in the last 25 years.

we've won 1 game against the likes of GA, FL, Bama since 2009.

exactly how patient do we have to be? that doesn't mean i want him fired. it does mean that we need to get some results. quickly. if he wins OU and FL...he's a freakin' hero. he has to understand the whole program, fans included. for lack of a better term, we need a 'savior'. we haven't had a reason to feel good about anything but recruiting rankings and uniform changes in a long time.

OP, posting anything positive on here will do nothing but bring u attacks.
When we win a couple games most will come back and act as if they never left.

Show all the patience you want, "our time" will never come with Butch Jones. Butch is a busy little bee, workaholic, organizer. He's a snake oil salesman impersonating a football coach. He is a incompetent in game coach with many glaring game day mistakes from his first game to the one last Saturday. Take any game the Vols have played since Butch got here and you can find stupid on field decisions. Those decisions are easy to forget if you win the game but they are there. Go back and look.

Didn't a fan say something like.... I didn't want to win by a last second field goal. That is truly pitiful.
GO VOLS! Beat the Hogs!

I realize that we are losing games that we should be winning due to double digit leads in the fourth quarter however like so are saying, we are close. Not to long ago we would not even be in a position to think about winning. Now that we have been able to jump out to a good lead and hold it for 3.5 quarters, the coaches have a few things to fix to ensure that we do not let up. When this happens watch out.

that's not exactly fair now is it. having an opposing opinion from yours doesn't make me or anyone else less a fan.

passion is passion. you choose your view point, i choose mine. win or lose, we'll all be there.

Grier is a RS FR, but your point is well taken.

When the coaches show something positive, we will too.

The fans that are still here are not leaving. The ones that will come back have been gone for a long time.

Most posters only get attacked when they post something not based in reality, which would include most of your posts.

I'm hopeful with you my friend.

I think what we need to realize is that we should be rooting for Butch Jones. He has everything going for him except game day skills. We should be hopeful that he figures that part out, because he's a rock star at everything else. The best thing for the Tennessee program is for Butch Jones to figure out how to win, because once he does, great things are in store. If he doesn't learn how to win, you have to say goodbye to some things you may not be ready to.

Remember:

1. Dooley couldn't recruit
2. Kiffin wouldn't read the maxims
3. Dooley wouldn't let former players in without prior permission.
4. Kiffin put us in trouble with the NCAA.
5. Dooley was horrible inside the locker room
6. Kiffin cashed checks he couldn't cash (figuratively speaking)
7. Dooley managed a clock worse than Jones did.
8. Kiffin told Tahj Boyd to get to steppin.
9. Dooley believed "Opportunity is Nowhere"
10. Kiffin left us in middle of the night two weeks before national signing day.

The grass is always greener, and things always look better in the rear view mirror than in the windshield.
