Because its extra revenue for the state? Not everyone gets offended that other schools fans/alumni want to show their pride.

I heard somewhere that in bama UT had gotten enough support but some a-hole in the house of reps blocked it

I live in Alabama and I get mad as hell when I see UofA on a Tennessee plate, I wish they would give us the UT ones back, im pretty sure I remember seeing some before

Get in touch with the Tennessee Alumni Association in Charlotte. They are petitioning for UT plates in the State of North Carolina. I just printed off requests for my wife and myself. I think they just need 30 or so more people to request the plates before the state will approve them.

When I lived in NC (1998-2003, the glory days after the national title) there was the whole sign the letter thing to get it qualified. I guess it never happened.
