UT football has only eleven losing seasons (not counting this year of course).
Before 2005, the Vols averaged a losing season every ELEVEN years.
Before 2005, they had only nine in 96 years.
Take out pre-WWI times and the losing seasons drop to six in 96 years before 2005. Three of those losing seasons came before WWI. That averages out to a losing season every SIXTEEN YEARS before 2005.
The Vols average a losing season every 9 years in the last 100 years. Take out pre-WWI seasons, and it is 12.5 years.
The Vols have never had a losing season 3 out of five years. If the Vols finish under .500, it would be the first time in school history.
