I don't live in Knoxville and am nowhere close to this situation. But from what I see from afar is that hopefully CPF's hiring was to sooth the raw butts of his buddies that contribute to the University. We all know that time heals all wounds and if Peterson tries to extend the three month gig it would be tantamount to signing a suicide letter. Three months and everybody is happy and coach can ride off into the sunset.I'm sure thats true but he created new concerns. I'm not gonna pretend to have a bunch of inside information because I don't but a couple of donors that I do know are concerned about hiring Fulmer. They are concerned that this three months will be extended over and over and will undermine what the current coach is trying to accomplish.
As far as outside the football program, I know Peterson has more problems but I don't know anything more than anyone could research and read about.
Relevant blurb in the KNS this morning.

...though not nearly as informative as this thread. Reads like a fluff piece; interesting perspective when dealing with a billion-dollar institution and a principal economic engine of your readership.
What a bastion of journalism...
I don't give a crap about the money but it does say a lot about the character of Peterson and Fulmer towards the university. My big problem with this whole deal is Kiffin has to endure Fulmer looking over his shoulder. If the cat calls for "bring back Fulmer" start and we all know they will, I would run straight to Johnny Majors if I were Kiffin and embrace him.
You must think Hammy reads on a 1st grade level. This would be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Fulmer is gone why can't we all just let it go. If Johnny had been hired to do this people would be loving it. It really isn't that big of a deal. I feel pretty good that Fulmer will be able to raise more than 37.5 k in 3 months. If he doesn't then it was a bad business decision but you don't lose anything; if he does then it was a good business decision.
