People need to realize that Sal coached up and was surrounded by top notch players at Bama day in and day out. The guy at this point in his career can probably tell within 30 seconds of watching a player if the guy is a stud with NFL potential.
On the flip side, Wilcox was surrounded by average talent on the BS teams and was not well equiped to judge what talent level there needed to be in the SEC. It wasn't really his fault but he is not, nor will be in the future it appears, an SEC coach.
The fact that Sal has been not only in the SEC for many many years but knows what level it takes to win big sets him apart from Wilcox. He just knows what to look for.
This little distinction will set us apart very quickly from the old regime and when Sal offers a kid (no matter what the star level is) people better realize the guy just offered is a baller.
Trust in Sal. All he has done is win.
