I will probably never see another SEC Championship, let alone a National Championship. I am 45 now, and the way the UT admin has proven time and again, that they are not concerned with winning titles, I will only have the memory of the 90's to know what it was like when UT was dedicated to fielding a championship level coaching staff and team

I can at least say, I was alive to remember when we were good. These younger Tennessee fans, like my kids, have no idea what is was like being mentioned for a shot at not just the SEC Championship, but National Championship every year. When we started out in the polls, ranked on the top 10, if not top 5. When we had complete teams made up of all-SEC players and could dominate everyone except for Florida ( damn you Spurrier). When we were not just feared, but respected and you didn't come in our house and embarrass us.

Now, we are the laughing boys of CFB. Our admin is a complete sham. Our coaching staff is a train wreck, with a HC that couldn't coach a pee wee league team to a championship. Our AD doesn't look like its improved since Hamilton wrecked the AD.

So, what do we do as fans?

Most will continue to watch and go to games because that is what they do. They support the team no matter what. I can admire the dedication. I will not fault them, because I love the Vols. However, I can't bring myself to travel 400 miles, spend money on tickets, food, hotel, etc ( which amounts to almost $1000 a game), when the admin doesn't care about the fans or the team.

Hopefully, our kids or grandkids will see UT brought back to glory. One day, we can hope UT will bring in some alumni, who are more than qualified to run the school, and get rid of these carpetbaggers who have no interest in continuing the traditions of this great University

Until then, Go Vols and Fire Butch!!!

I'm 71, I saw it all. My mom used to tell me and my siblings,"hold your potato". Not sure exactly what it means, but I think it had something to do with being patient. Mom, I'm still holding my potato, it sprouted long ago!!

Maybe it's our destiny to become another Minnesota, where we were a powerful program decades ago but slowly fade into incompetence.

For your sake, I hope you get to see one before you move on

It doesn't

It has more to do with what we have seen out of our AD since Dickey left

My confidence in them is shot

About all I can do is wait and see. Currie has a chance to do as he is told and keep his job, or get out of the box and get fired. I'm hoping he will be told to do something that is best for UT.

Back to me waiting and seeing.

That is the hardest part for me

Its the not knowing. I don't know what I would do if they bring Butch back next year.

I like puppies too much to kick any and I'm running out of buckets of light bulbs

I’m 75 and would like to see them field a competitive team soon. It’s really regressed the last 10 years. They just keep picking names out of a hat and hoping they will get lucky and things will be fixed.
