In my lifetime UT has been Blessed by GREAT running backs - Who is your favorite?

I agree with most everything you post but I won't diminish anything about Chuck or Jamal. The fact Jamal was able to rehab his injury and preform at the highest level doesn't diminish in any way what Chuck was. The season Chuck had in 1989 is special in many ways. First until the Alabama game Chuck was Reggie Cobbs back up. Jamal didn't have that his freshman or sophomore year before his injury. Don't berate players by saying that clearly you're subjective opinion is valid because someone did something in the NFL. That would be like saying T Martin was a better college quarterback than Peyton Manning (which is clearly not the case) because he happened to win the national championship. People who saw both play can see so many similarities. Outside of Chuck being 5/8 5/9 they were very much the same backs. Powerful guys who could take it to the house every play.

I have said this before and I still am of the opinion if Chuck Webb doesn't blow his knee out in 1990 Tennessee probably has a very good chance to win the national championship.

Glad we had both of them and long for the time when we have another similar back to either one of them.

Go Vols
Jamal also had better stats in college too though....yes Webb (and Jamal's) college careers were cut short due to injury...again just a counter point

One whose injury basically cost him a career and fortunately it wasn't the case for Jamal. I absolutely saw both of them play and pre injury they are absolutely 1a and 1b. Jamal was just a little bit taller than Chuck

I was stuck working in SE PA during that game and invented an early version of streaming ... I called my mom and asked her to turn the game on the radio and put the phone down next to the radio so I could listen. I did get to the Meadowlands a couple of weeks later to watch Johnny & The VOLS play rutgers.

Lots of advancement with that surgery between 1990 and 1998. Webb got hurt again in Green Bay returning kicks

Underrated goat who deserves his flowers: Rajion Neal.

Went from dipsh!t Dooley to dogs!t Jones and still went for 1,100 and 15TDs. He may not end up on the Mount Rushmore of TN backs but that dude ran hard as hell.
