I was the same age as Adam and was already a fan of his because of his personality and good attitude. I wrote this the morning I found out he had passed away.......

We lost another shining star today,
Adam Petty we will always know your star will never fade.

You were one of the so called "young guns"
A very talented driver who always liked to have fun.

Through you we all got to see that famous Petty smile,
Now everytime I remember seeing you wearing it makes it all
worthwhile.

No matter what happened to you on the track,
You were always wearing that smile and showing you were a true
"class act."

You were a good person Adam Petty and it makes us ask why you,
Only God knows the reasons but we will always miss you.

You lived your dream in Texas but your day ended too soon,
But you got to race with the best in the world that Sunday
afternoon.

There is so much to say about you it can't be put into words,
All I know is I'm just a fan but this feeling really hurts.

Maybe it's a little selfish because I loved to see you race.
Now your racing in the kingdom of Heaven and I'll just have to wait.

I can only hope when the sun sets on my life one of the first thing's
I'll see is that famous Petty smile looking right at me.

We'll miss you Adam Petty, your life was too short,
But your legend will live forever, through love and support.

You'll be remembered for your talent but most importantly who you
were,
And I would bet the bank that when talking about you, there will be
no bad words.

I shed a tear. Such a sad story, but it is great to see so many positive things done in his memory.

Adam was going to be my fav driver when Bill Elliott retired. I remeber the day Adam passed and it was horrible. I wrote a thing the next morning called "Petty Blue" about his passing. I still have yet to find a fav driver.

Like posted before, I am so glad his memory gets to live on with the Victory Junction Gang Camp. Kyle and the rest of the Petty's are class acts for what they do for the kids. Along with everyone else that donates time or money to this worthy cause.
