I'm probably as close to Phoebus as you are to P'ville. Want to compare their rankings?

We get it, you like HS boys in tight pants. It's just a bit weird to hear about it so often

5A is a notch below the Big Boys...Good season though and I'm a staunch backer of Boyd. He's the sole reason for Phoebus success.

As for the boys in tight pants...I haven't noticed...Why have you is the question???

I cant even began to count the number of 4 stars weve had that were absolute busts. I wont begin to care very much at all for Kiffin telling Thigpen to hit the road.

Back to the thread...Why does CLK tell a speed burner to go away???

same reason as boyd i suppose.dosnt fit his system ?

to wait so long is dirty unless theres more to the story.

this kid didnt waiver on his commitment and also took no other visits.nice message to send out to other recruits.

wonderboy is getting alot of kudos for assembling a allstar staff.ill give him credit for having the contacts (pops) but i also think theres a dozen or so who could have done the same with a open checkbook.

so far two things bother me the most.his unwillingness or knowledge to find a use for atheletes like boyd/thigpen and his pigheadness that his system is the only way to have success.

a good coach wins because he sticks to his plan,he is uncomfortable outside the box.(fulmer)

a great coach figures out how to win while constantly adapting and redeveloping his plan based on the talent in house.the heil w/ the box.(myer)

i just fail to see how boyd and thigpen would not have made us a better team.i think both could have played this year.i didnt see boyd bounce any passes in the sr game, looked pretty decent to me and we know he has wheels.thigpen w/ blazing speed might have been our new return man?

i can almost appreciate wonderboy telling these recruits they wont fit his system but on the other hand i can almost say he dosnt fit ours as well.

differance being he was giving a chance to prove himself and these kids were told to look elsewhere.

Great point... and on the topic, it is amazing to me that Thigpen doesn't fit the system, but Zach Rogers does.... Shallow move Kiffin.... I feel incredibly bad for Thigpen.

Then why don't you try to fire up ETSU's football program and you can recruit whoever you want, and you don't ever have to let a commit go if you don't want to.

This is Kiffin's football team and he will face the reprecusions of what he does. It is his job to win at UT, not yours. So you are always entitled to your opinion, but Kiffin has to get things right and he has a way he wants to do it.

DT has plenty of time to find the right place for him. NSD in not a deadline. Maybe we have one or two more silent commits at his projected position, who knows? Any way, if Kiffin thought that DT would have little chance to get playing time, this is the best thing to do for him so he can have the best chance at a career. He is still welcome to UT, the ball is in his court now.

Yeah but this years SC game was one of the hardest fought games Ive seen in years (16-13). Hoover hooked a short FG in the last seconds. P'ville fumbled twice in Hoover's endzone. P'ville defense held at the 6 inch line on 4 consecutive snaps...it was a sloppy but great game!

Legion Field is still a cold, old, dump!

I am not sure about the whole story, but he should have been told way before now. To do it on his visit a few days before NSD looks very bad .

Scout.com: Vols May Lose Thigpen

Article on it...Anyone have an account to see what the full story says?

If he told this guy that he doesn't fit the system, I have to believe some big time WR's have told him they are signing on NSD. I don't see him telling him this a week before NSD if he doesn't feel confident with MB and others.

One could easily argue that turning down two good prospects (instead of signing them with no real idea of how you would use them) is thinking way outside the box.

Maybe your too far in the box to see it.

You get hit hard by that ice storm lex? NES just sent about 28 trucks up there from nashville to help get power back on. I'm hearing its the worst storm they've had up there in years.
