To help promote the fight against cancer, I'm joining the growing club of modern gentlemen who believe in the virtues of fine moustachery and growing a moustache for Movember. The Mo (slang for moustache) becomes the pink ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.

Movember is about raising funds and awareness for men's health, specifically cancer affecting men, because:

- 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime
- 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime
- my mother and grandfather were diagnosed with cancer

The more people I can get on board, the more lives we can impact. I am asking you to either make a donation or grow a moustache as a Mo Bro (or join as a Mo Sista to help recruit other gentlemen)... or both. The name of our team is "Stache Yo Kids, Stache Yo Wife" and to make a donation go to Movember United States - Donate and enter my name (Steve Puett). We are having an internal competition so I would sincerely appreciate any support you might be able to offer (seriously... no amount is too small).

Or, to join the Movember movement go to Movember United States - Home and follow the steps to get more information or create your own team.

If you're interested in learning more about the work that is being carried out as a result of Movember funds, feel free to read the details at Movember Foundation United States - Research & Programs. The idea for Movember was sparked in 2003 over a few beers in Melbourne, Australia. The plan was simple – to bring the moustache back as a bit of a joke and do something for men’s health. I would like to encourage every member of VolNation to get involved in this cause.

I sported one for 20 years. Shaved it off 10 years ago and havent looked back. 3 days of grey stubble reminds me to shave daily. Good luck with the cause though.

According to the rules, you're asked to "start Movember 1st clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month"... but, afterall, you are that guy for which rules were made to be broken! :)

I haz one

You da man.

My stache has been present and accounted for since I was 16.

You da squirrel. Squirrels must be dammmmn sexy with a moustache.

Sounds like it's time to give it a go again. Grecian is your friend. :p

Heart knows I love her regardless.

Sure... but Heart's got to realize this is for a good cause. So if she chooses to ride a few 'staches to raise some money to fight cancer... I'm jus' sayin. :whistling:

Or sumtin like that.

Well... it's not the most polished slogan I've ever seen, but it'd prolly deliver results! :eek:hmy:

Edit: already achieving results based on response above.
