TN fans have been labeled as everything in the book lately. And some deservedly so. But it’s a cowardly way out for this Athletic Departments failure to do their job by blaming the fans. And the natl media as well. It’s no different than a coach going for it on 4th and 1 then blaming the fans when it doesn’t work. “Well, the fans said go for it.” TN fans have watched their beloved program go from elite status to the absolute bottom because of two bad hires (excluding Kiffins short time). Of course the fan base was following this coach search closely. And it was a debacle from start to finish. A total embarrassment. I’ve heard a thousand times TN fans need to be patient. TN fans are delusional. We expect a lot because we give a lot. Before the two bad hires we were a perennial powerhouse and frequented Atlanta in December. But two bad hires and ten years later we are the worst team in the SEC. But we are impatient. We filled one of the largest stadiums in America game after game, but we are impatient. We have a history to rival any program in the country, resources to do the same, and in state talent is getting better every year. But we are delusional because we wanted a top tier coach. I see all the infighting in here amongst fans because we are passionate. What team in the country sells out their stadium when they have the worst season in the schools history? Stop blaming the fans and hold the admin accountable for doing their job. Their high paying job. Everyone is accepting Jeremy Pruitt, a born and bred Bama guy since birth. That’s where we are now. And honestly most fans are happy to have him, myself included. Or maybe just glad it’s over. But the fans are the only consistent thing this program has. And the top booster every year, thru thick and thin. We may fight amongst ourselves but we will be here long after the coaches come and go, and we have a right to be upset if we feel like this direction seems eerily similar to our previous direction. So stop blaming the fans for our fall and start opening your eyes to who makes the hires and creates these buyouts and win/loss records. Or just kick the fans out and see what kind of program you have without us. We are all gonna get on board now I think, happy or not, but this is the last chance in the minds of many. So I hope it works out.

Serious question? Who read that wall of text?

I guess we are impatient. If it’s not a GIF with some stupid movie clip repeating some cliche then it’s not worthy of 60 seconds of our time. Microwave meals are better too.

I watched the entire press conference and it was ok at best. He has public speaking difficulties but that has nothing to do with coaching. He seems like a football junkie who spent his entire life around football. And I hope he does good things. But I’m sick and tired of every tv and radio show degrading the fan base. We have been more than patient. And saying we are delusional is just another way of saying your program sucks so get used to it.

Instead of whining about why you’re not getting bunch of high fives for you’re thread, why don’t you just sleep on it next time before you hit submit.

I wasn’t looking for likes. Why don’t you just read something else instead of making dumb @$$ comments? Does it make you feel good to insult someone? There are other threads for you to read and post your junior high GIF.

The OP has a very feminine vibe to it......as if written by someone hormonal or something

Tennessee fans are starved, they want to be proud of the Volunteers, screw what others say, the fans knew more of what the program ultimately needed, much more than the administration:popcorn:

So you disagree?

I agree the administration is responsible for the poor hires.

I don't agree that fans are being blamed for the poor hires.

I do believe the vocal message board fans have had a negative impact on this coaching search starting with Gruden-mania.

I do believe the point could have been made in a short story, not a novel.

I know it was long but after hearing Booger McFarland say one more time “who the hell does TN think they are” just set me off. We had a great program then we lost it by not getting a proven coach. This one isn’t proven either, but he is a football guy and a southern guy. I hope he can handle the reigns. Just tired of hearing how TN fans don’t deserve anything.

I did (But I also read Les Miserables, Count of Monte Cristo, Lord of the Rings 3x) and I say Bravo! Someone needs to congradulate these impatient fans. If you are going to have fans, have good fans. And Tennessee has good fans.

I agree. We got waaay too much crap over the last 3 weeks and does seem alot of the media thinks we should just shut up and accept our fate.

It all comes down to not winning enough. If you lose you're "dysfunctional". Plus..you get no respect.

Tennessee is still a major program on the national radar no matter what. We get 3 guaranteed major network games each year...plus SEC network. It seems we get way more tv coverage than teams like Arkansas...Miss St. Ole Miss etc....even more than Auburn. It was losing that caused everything bad to happen. It caused us to fire our coach...which led to the debacle of trying to hire one and having an impotent jack ass like Currie ...who has a disdain for the fans....take over the coaching search. But it was losing that started everything.
