Improvement

Do you really think we improved this year?
I agree we are not leaps and bounds ahead of last year but I do think wins over two top 25 teams is better than all 4 wins we had last year. I saw much more fight in some guys this year because everyone quit last year. I am frustrated as well but you and most people had unrealistic expectations of this team.

U T football will have better days in the future. Today was predictable. This team has played one of the tougher schedule in the country. They are one of the youngest teams in the country, one of the most limited in players. I thought that the Tenn qp exhibited signs of an concussion. So when you look at the physical condition of TN they had no gas left jn the tank. Then on top of this the defense was on the field 40 mins in a game of 60 mins.. So all we can hope for that CJP can get enough talent to start this team toward success in 2019. A fan of 75 years.

I really didn’t have unrealistic expectations. While the win over Auburn was a great surprise, let’s be honest—KY was grossly overrated. I thought we would beat Florida since we had them at home. I didn’t think we would beat Auburn but we did. I thought we would beat KY and Vandy and I thought we had a chance to beat MO and SC. I thought we would be 7-5. I sure didn’t expect to lose to MO and Vandy by a combined score of 88-24. That’s where the lack of improvement is obvious, at least in my view.

That is fair. The last two games no one could have seen coming. But I thought 5 or 6 wins on the season. The fact was driven home in the last two games this roster is a long way from where it needs to be. But I'm encouraged by some of the freshmen. Thompson, Taylor, Banks and I feel that with 1 more year in the S and C program or O line should take another step. But I still don't expect them to win much more than this year JMO

I feel the same level of embarrassment right now that I did last year. We had a chance to show legitimate improvement this season - until today, that is. This really negates some of the positive things we saw happening at Auburn and South Carolina and vs Kentucky. We were one step forward and one step backward this year. I'm done defending Pruitt and UT football for a while. The best thing about this season is that it's over.

Now, on to hoops!

I know we're all some kind of hurt by how it ended, but the future is bright! For some reason or another, these upperclassmen.....QUIT after the KY game. There are others who have as well and kinks to fix in the offseason, but we def have improved as a football team. One win away from a bowl game, 2 SEC wins, and beat 2 top25 opponents? We never saw this coming day 1. Yes there are some games we feel we should've won, but honestly right now we don't have the starters to be what we want to be in our conference. This will be pruitt's 1st true offseason as coach. Let's see how it goes and look forward to 2019! GO VOLS!!!!!

There's simply no reasonable way someone could claim that the team we saw today had improved since the first game. This team had what, 3 or 4 games out of 12, that they rose up and played well. Those proved to be anomalies. Overall this team regressed from week one to week 12.

We changed systems completely. From Botch's twinkle toe offense to smash mouth with Botch's twinkle toe players. The defensive talent is terrible also. Soft, undersized front, slow linebackers. Whole front 7 needs to be upgraded.
