Just started and played my first dynasty game on the XBOX. I like the game. Is it essentially the same game? Yes. Does it play pretty much the same? Yes. Graphics the same? Improved a little but nothing jaw dropping.

Big plays like QB sacks, interceptions, jukes in the open field, etc. now play like Tiger in that it goes letterboxed, goes in slow motion and zooms in a bit. I really liked this. Made it exciting when you got a good play.

Kick returns are a bit different. The camera angle is different, closer to the ground behind the guy. Makes it more like you on the field level running it back. I think it's pretty cool.

Punts and extra point defense now has a 3rd person view. Hit Y and the camera goes right behind you guy. Neat addition. Not sure it adds much, but something different.

Picking plays, etc. is pretty much the same. I didn't look around all that much. Didn't see or try any trick plays, then again I was using UT. :wink2:

Stat colors are better this year. You can read UT stats now instead of squinting at them.

Spring Drills were added. I haven't looked at them yet.

UT was 18th in polls as noted before.

I might be able to answer questions. Not sure how much I'll get to play it. I want to play it a few games then fire up the 360 demo and see what I think. They are obviously different game engines with the 360 having much less presentation flair.

thank gooooodness
it sounds like it'll be a dang good game.. Dynasty Mode will always be where the most effort goes into, but BMOC will be a new thing that we can use... only three more days

so would you say it IS better than last years game? even though you haven't messed around with everything yet? just curious

It's better. I like the new camera angles and letterbox impact plays a lot. I had an interception this morning and the camera swung around to the 3rd person "field level" view like on kickoffs. I like this a lot. Not as easy to see everything but really cool looking. I might prefer the XBOX version to 360 simply because of these little details.

There's also the ability to knock a guy's helmet off. I've seen it happen twice.

Nothing much seems to have changed in 90% of the gameplay, but what they did add compliments it very well, in my opinion.

Before I go running out to WalMart, let me get this right. The regualr X-Box version isn't out yet, it's just you are playing the version online, right?

Neither version is in stores. I happen to get an advanced copy of the XBOX version yesterday.

No, it's built on a completely different engine. EA probably doesn't feel the need to beef it up any more because it's a limited user base you're selling to on the 360. When the PS3 is out and they are hitting both systems, they will really start adding new stuff and getting it up to par with the current PS2/XBOX version.

Big Man on Campus isn't in the 360 version along with some other things. 360 has a mode or two (bowling) not in the others. No pre-game on the 360, etc. I'm talking full release, not just the demo.

360 version doesn't do the letterbox stuff, doesn't have the "field view" when receiving kicks, etc. Sort like 06 with prettier graphics and a couple modes swaped around.

I have to agree with DRR. The game for xbox has a few new features but I really felt like I was playing last years game. Like he mentioned some of the slowmo shots are nice and the kick return camera angle is really cool. I think they could find a way to add that angle in other parts of the game.

I have not downloaded the 360 demo yet so I cannot compare the two.

So you are telling me that the 360 version does not have all of the features the xbox version has? That is absurd if true.

Eh what can you expect. EA only updates NCAA games every few years.

Different engine and different developer. Probably ran out of time b/c EA is too cheap to either pay for competant programmers, or not enough of them.

Freak - Grab the demo and compare. They are fairly different when you get down to it.

I downloaded the demo once already and the stupid thing didn't work. I suppose I will have to download it again. I really hate that there will be no "Big Man on Campus" (Heisman) mode. Has this been confirmed or could it have just been left out of the demo?
