Mike Mathews. Desperately need a threat at WR
Is he our deep threat? Is he the Hyatt on this years team? He seems big and physical - not sure if he’s the burner we need to take the top off of the D…we need to have several to give the QB options…I still love to watch the 2022 games and see how well the receivers switched spots between snaps to confuse the D…getting Hyatt on a safety against Bama several times. My favorite is still against Kentucky when they lined up quick and Hyatt shirted to the slot - he was covered by the freaking LB! I swear if you look up close you can read the linebackers lips…he says…”****!” 😂

I’ll start paying attention if we start 5-0. Beyond that, I’m more into NFL now. NIL and portal were so poorly executed that it’s ruined the sport for me in many ways
In reality, the NFL is no better. Same bunch of mess, just more overpaid players, just at a more expensive level.

You can blame the past qb all you want, but you can’t ignore the fact he was running for his life a lot. Heard was awful in pass pro and campbell had exactly zero knees. It was even worse when they put Davis outside.
I understand our line was not as good as we would have liked. But many of, or most of the plays called took into effect the need to be short and quick. And he would just stand waiting for who knows what. Instead of throwing away if no one was open, he just ate it.

Mike Matthew’s big and physical??
He’s 6’1” 190 lbs. and he’s a got good speed. True 4.4 guy.

Travis Smith is 6’3” 215 lbs and plays physical.

For me it’s

1) Jaedon Harmon
6’1” 225 lbs ILB
Ran a 10.7 in the 100 meter.
Was all over the field for Rome GA.

I think he’s so good that he makes Telander and Spillman the 2nd team LBs.
Which they play a lot too!

2) Jordan Ross
6’5” 250 and is another 4.5 speed edge rusher!

3) Joey Aguilar
California gunslinger that has 8,000 yards passing at the college level.

4) Desean Bishop
5’11” 215 lbs Knoxville former walkon that will rush for over 1,000 yards in 2025

I’ll stop watching when we go 0-12.

And then start watching again next September.

I bleed Orange. It’s literally the only thing in sports I care about. I don’t care if they took the Bad News Bears and put in them in Orange jerseys, I’ll watch.
Can’t believe you didn’t get a like from @Lawrence Wright for this post!!!!

John Campbell Jr.: 51.5 passing (500)

Lance Heard: 61.7 passing (753 total plays)

A score of 60 is considered to be average.

Just for reference, Campbell scored a 59.5 in 2023 so he took a step back, presumably due to injuries. He played less snaps too.

I also think CJH knew Nico could not hit the long ball, so he purposefully designed less long throws. Nico 100% struggled with the deep ball, but those two Tackles struggled to block anyone. You gotta have both playing at a high level to give an average Qb time to set his feet. Otherwise he's getting rushed or worse.

Just for chits and giggles, Nico scored 81.7 passing grade, which meant he was tied for 7th in the SEC.

I get he's public enemy #1 now, but stats don't lie. He wasn't nearly as bad when he had time to throw the ball. Against SEC level pass rushers, Heard and Campbell were below average at best.

I don't know if this is available or not but I'd be interested in seeing Heard's score for just the 2nd half of the season. He seemed to play much better down the stretch.
