The DC change is starting to look it could pay major dividends for this class. Because of the job Wilcox and Sirmon did selling the program as opposed to themselves, we are in a position to keep all of the players we already had (I don't count Crawley because he's an academic risk and was already looking around) and because of Coach Sal we are in a great spot to swoop on some guys before NSD.

Who knows how it will work out on the field, but for recruiting, this was all for the best.

Agree 100%. This class is a top 10 lock now and 2013 will be pushing top 5 for sure. We have one of the best recruiting staffs as it stands now with a couple more coaching hires to go.

This off season is going to be a lot of fun, I know I'm pretty damn excited

It may turn out that losing Wilcox and Sirmon and replacing them with Sunseri and another assistant ends up benefiting the program. It sure didn't look that way on January 2nd.

I agree with all the above posts. I have no idea how Pittman is coaching-wise. It's hard to judge Pittman at UNC based on their type of play, lack of any decent RB, coaching changes, etc. But, I think it has already been mentioned by VQ that he is apparently a great football mind that has some good recruiting ability.

Out of all the coaching changes, so far we've got CJG, CSS, and CSP. I'll take it.

I'm just glad to see we have a DC in place. Now does he hire a linebacker coach and coach the DB's or does he coach the linebacker's and hire a DB coach? :pardon:

This should put to rest those questioning Dooley's ability to bring in top-notch assistants. Sirmon, Graham, Pittman, Sunseri, maybe Bisaccia...can't really complain about any of them.

I would imagine he hires a DB coach since he was LB coach at Bama

Can you explain why you say this? This is NOT a passive/aggressive, "you're full of it" post, just curious as to the specifics of how you think it shakes out top 10.

Because we're sitting at 18th right now, we've got a handful of commits to go to finish this class, and they're all likely going to be 4stars or better. I honestly can't see this class finishing any worse than 12th.

Will CSS try to bring some of Bama's commitments or only try to sway the ones who aren't committed yet?

I certainly agree. CJG and Sirmon are becoming proven already at a young age for coaches. I forgot about Bisaccia, that one would definitely be nice.

It seems that Dooley scrambled somewhat to fill out his initial coaching staff due to the circumstances and timing surrounding Kiffin's departure, but Dooley has improved the coaching staff each year.

From what I understand most SEC coaches have a gentlemans agreement to not go after players committed to their ex employer. I would think that would only pertain to the new coach from said staff. I would figure any other coach that was already recruiting would still try to sway them our way.

Pittman was a big-time hire that I dont think anyone foresaw coming. I have to admit I was happy Heistand was leaving but not excited about the names thrown out on the various boards..Browning, Atkins, etc... Pittman was a monumental upgrade from Heistand and he's going to help big-time recruiting-wise in an area Tennessee has to have success in.

Also with Sunseri I'd definitely keep an eye on guys like Kwon Alexander and Tomlinson now.
