you know, the recruiting class is great, because it increases our chances of having as much good talent as possible. it's not a guarantee. John Adams actually has a good article reviewing the 03 class....not sure where it was ranked but there were some really high profile guys in that class...it was amazing to see how these guys were rated coming in and what actualy happened to them while in college....Within 4 years should we expect a shot at a NC with the quality of talent we have recruited as of late? We should win a SEC title at the least. We will see what CPF can do with all this new talent.

having said that, the future sure looks better......the problem with all this is...take a look around the recruiting rankings. FL, SC, LSU, GA, Auburn etc.....aren't exactly lagging behind in talent either.
the SEC will be tough enough to win in and of itself over the next 3-4 years. BUT....lack of talent on our part should not be a reason for not winning it. And the same can/will be said of all our major competiton of the same time span.
our chances are increased yes, but to say it's "going" to happen........not there yet.
can't I just have some fun? I fully expected to be lambasted as a Negavol.Sorry BigPapaVol, but that's just ridiculous..
very true statement.can't I just have some fun? I fully expected to be lambasted as a Negavol.
I think the staff should revel in this occasion because they are great at this part of the job. Maybe we should begin to focus more attention here because we'd be much happier far more often. Maybe equate Top 5 with current excitement of winning SEC title and #1 class with national championship.
All joking aside, I am excited about this group and hope that player development picks up over where it has been over the past couple of groups. I have high expectations and this type of class tends to fan those flames.
Unfortunately, we often gauge our recruiting on raw ability of players, but don't have the insight to understand a players receptiveness to coaching or their willingness to listen / learn. Hence, the coaching staff (especially CPF) probably gets unfairly blamed for poor personnel development and that is a sad, but very real part of coaching.
we've never had a problem recruiting. The coaching is what is suspect. We are infamous around the nation for not developing talent well at all.
when you put it like that........lol.So I guess you think Fulmer is just good at choosing NFL ready talent out of high school? That's why we have put more players in the league other than like one other school.
What an erroneous post.
ok, i've already said i agree that player development has been an issue....but what have these guys been doing at practice....learning to cook or something? it's neither as good as the Dude thinks it is, but it's not as bad as you, blaker or I think it is either....despite common belief, i bet the coaches on staff actually do know SOMETHING about football.....how much...eh, that's debatable.they've gotten there IN SPITE of our tutelege, not because of it
