It's not up to them, the fact that it came from bat transmission comes from virologists who were able to confirm and cross confirm in a lab. This can also happen anywhere, the Spanish flu originated in Kansas from consuming pigs.

SOOOOOOO this. NBC props up ND in football these recent years. it's the ONLY reason ND shows up in the top ten most of the time. Their heyday ended with Granny and Rocket Ishmail. Their last national title appearance was a joke, they had no business being there.

Again, as stated in the article you linked but clearly lack the competence to read/digest, one author constructed this hypothesis that happens to be one of several. If you can't wrap your head around this, you're simply beyond hope and clearly have more pressing concerns with which to deal than feigning knowledge of science/football on a Tennessee forum.

What a hill to die on, my original point was this virus transmission can happen anywhere live animals are kept and it stands.
