Good music is good music. Good singers are good singers. Gender means nothing.

Her music is definitely an aquired taste. Hide and Seek is an incredible song.

Ever noticed my numerous posts in the metal thread?

It's all about variety, son.

Frou Frou, Zero 7, Morcheeba... British down-tempo. Next time you want relaxing music, try it.

variety is over rated. Variety is for guys who like to play on both sides of the field. i'll pass.

I like her, but the voice distortion gets old after a while, and some of the lyrics are trite. Overall, though, she's a solid musician.

Zero 7 is some great stuff for winding down. I also have a couple of Morcheeba albums from a chick I knew in residency who had recently moved from Eastern Europe. Honestly, I haven't really given Frou Frou a shot, although I think they/she have a song or two on a couple of late-night/chilled house mix cd's I have (Ministry of Sound?).

Ben Folds and Ben Folds Five are manly.

Hey, to each his own, I enjoy all music, and to limit yourself to only one genre is your loss IMO. The Luckiest by Folds is one of my current favorites, trying to learn it on guitar right now. And no, I don't play on both sides of the field.

I have to admit I'm not familiar with Imogene.
