I even defended the Bama game and said forget it, it was a lost cause.
I don't care about the defense, really. So many injuries but they haven't broken many times so I will let them pass.
This was the worst offense I've ever seen. OL is freaking hot garbage.
Dobbs sucks. I love the boy to death, had some great memories and he has given his all a true VFL but he's a terrible QB. He's played forever and a freshman with JUST A S MUCH PRESSURE outplayed him in his 2nd game.
I'm tried of opponents WRs making amazing catches, and guys not named Jennings ALMOST making them. Freaking make them.
But let's get to the real issue. The offense as a whole is a freaking joke. How you take 4 years and this GARBAGE is put on the field is beyond me. Mahoney is the worst OL coach I've ever seen. Azzani is terrible. The WRs couldn't block a wet paper bag much less catch crucial passes.
I'm just sick of losing. I'm tired of not doing what it takes to get the job done. Screw the renovations, HIRE SOME COACHES.
I'm tired of injuries. I'm tried of the penalties and turnovers. Like seriously what the freaking crap do they do in practice? This team has no desire to win.
I'm tired of Burch taking forever to do what should already be done.
That includes benching Dobbs. Not for good, but Dobbs absolutely sucked tonight and at some point, including that last couple of drives, Dormady should have been in there. Because the backup is guaranteed to win us the game? No. But Dobbs and downfield throwing is NEVER going to happen. You HAVE to have a deep ball QB, even if it fails, who cares? You suck and will lose anyway. And guess what you did.
I'm just tried of it all. I love my Vols and will watch every snap even if it's a blowout but it's really sucked being a UT fan since 02 which is all I've known.

Debord play calling is horrible; makes an average OL look terrible; love Herd but should get much less playing time than Kimera; top 5 talent all aver the field.....anchored down by mediocre coaching

The last pass of the game was terrible on Dobbs and then trying a 58 yard FG with the nation's worst kicker over 40 yards added to the... horrible coaching tonight after a freaking bye.

Dobbs is not a good pocket passer and this is supposed to be a fast paced read option offense and kelly >>>>hurd

Pretty much how I feel. I hope we win out and make some coaching changes. We have some great players and real talent here. Just seems like we can never capitalize when we need to. Instead we sh!t the bed and look lost.

I'll continue to support UT and they will always be my almamater and team but damn. We had the better team...

You hit the nail on the head bud. Couldn't have said it better myself. I feel the same.

Hurd is a very good running back -- just not is this system
Worley was the high school player of the year and a good QB - but not in this system
We have some decent players on the OL. But they suck in this system
We have great talent at WR -- but not in this system
Dobbs is a good runner and can throw a good pass now and then (remember the Hail Mary) but he is not a leader. Remember it was the 3rd string QB who rallied the troops on the sideline in the Battle of Bristol (that seems like 10 years ago the way this season has gone)

I'd rather watch paint dry than watch our offense on the field. I fall asleep during our games for the first time since the Clawfense - that's how boring we are. The defense can only do so much. Evan Berry is our best offense - and that's scary

You may want to move to England and buy a Manchester jersey. I think you're in for some disappointment.

You need to finish off that Natty and hit the sack.

I'm sick and tired of this MAC offense we run. Championship teams employ a fullback. Dobbs is a great kid but he's an erratic passer, Debord is a clueless OC, and we get nothing from Mahoney's OL.

Butch needs to take a time out and sit back and reflect on how his cronyism is holding the program back. CBJ can bring quality players into the program but they aren't being developed at some positions. Either he needs to make some changes on his staff or else the new AD may clean house top to bottom.

Medley was 6/16 in his career for 38%, definitely not the nation's worst kicker.

I have been tired ever since 2008. Hamilton f****d this program hard core and we still are paying for it. I am tired of being the team that everyone asks, is this the year?

I am tired of being tired.

What is unacceptable is the lack of discipline on both sides of he ball.

I would also thought it to be reasonable to at least have a decent offensive line in his 4th year. We are not as good as we were in his first year. Our players are just not developing like kids are in other programs.

OP
Your life we be easier when you are not a wimp.

I am a vol fan regardless of the heartbreaking loss or the suspect performance/play. Being a vol fan is bigger than one heartbreaking loss to an irrelevant program.

This is probably an overreaction.

But it wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't UTs year. On paper, this team should have had runaway with the SECE. Instead they are a last second miracle away from two losses in the division right now and 4 total conference losses. I think these heroic efforts by the players and injury excuses have masked how badly managed this program is right now.

App St. and Ohio weren't just bad games and are looking like normal. Va Tech and second half Florida seem like the anomalies now....they will happen with this kind of talent on paper no matter what (a clock is right twice a day, etc). Barely beat UGA who just crapped the bed against Vandy and only put up 21 yards rushing against UF. Bama is Bama.....they have a leadership from the top down that genuinely cares about being the best.

So what gives? From the administration, to the AD, to the coach....I don't think there is a real, tangible, and legitimate commitment to excellence. At least not of the Bama, LSU, AU variety. And why should they be? The fan base is apathetic, and the money still rolls in. Even if CBJ were to be fired, it will be the next perennial ex-MAC mid level coach up. There will be excitement, the fan base will get pumped, and 4 or 5 years later after Bama wins another couple NCs and UF makes it to the SECCG every other year....reality will set in again. Wash, rinse, repeat.....and the checks still clear from this cash cow.

Until somebody at the top really cares about making this a great program, this is our cyclic reality IMO.

You could have a point. I have said what we are seeing now is the culmination of terrible AD decisions. It may be longer than we think until we become elite again.
