I'm STILL Looking for one of Them "Trough-Urinals"...

Yeah, nothing like the tradition of being 10 years old and having to go pee in a trough with 100 other dudes leaving all sorts of mental health issues to deal with for the rest of your Vol loving life.
Lulz

Now try sitting back-to-back and cheek-to-cheek on a 12 seat toilet built with plywood on top of an above ground collection tank without partitions in a tent.

I don't think there are many who "live on here" have a clue what you imply with the one word "tent". I expect many of them would just hide and piss in a beer cup rather than get that close to another man at a trough!

Heh.

The concept of privacy utterly disappears in some segments of the military.

Not all, I mean the air force are still rocking private shower stalls, no joke, I used them a couple of times. And there are parts of the Army and Marine Corps where privacy is allowed. [I don't know much about the Navy or Coast Guard's heads, so won't bring them into it]

But man, the first time you walk into a latrine and see that long line of toilets with no walls around them, you get clued in quick. :)

And that's not even mentioning the recon / scout / sniper situations where 2 or 3 guys in one hide site are peeing in bottles and pooping into plastic bags right beside each other for several days in a row.

Only other place I've seen that utter lack of privacy is among the big wall climbers who spend, like, 7 days on a cliff face like the Dawn Wall at El Cap, Yosemite.

Heh. So those trough urinals are mild invasions, to some.

Go Vols!

I can never think about the Neyland trough urinals without being reminded of one of those classic Winston Churchill stories……

In his Hillsdale College Constitution Day lecture of 2011, Charles Krauthammer cited an amusing encounter between Churchill and Labour Prime Minister Clement Attlee in the Members’ Cloakroom of the House of Commons.

Attlee is standing over the trough as Churchill enters on the same mission. Observing Attlee, Churchill shuffles as far away as possible.

Attlee: “Feeling standoffish today, are we, Winston?”
WSC: “Yes. Every time you socialists see something big you want to nationalize it.”

The video above was one year ago. I do think they are all gone after this newest renovation. That is Volnations job Saturday, please report if you see a trough. 😄
As someone working on the renovations, I can 100% confirm there is at least 1 bathroom with troughs. No, I did not take photos. The first bathroom to the west as you enter the level 2 concourse from the G10 ramp.

Would it be too much to ask for shorter troughs for the kids?

This looks like a nice bucket to pee in

If DW wants to raise funding for a worthy cause, we should have our SEC opponents’ logos painted on the troughs.

“It’s your turn, son.”
“Aww! But I wanted to piss on Bama!!!”
