If you didn't live in a hole you wouldn't have to research Pruitt, I have heard of him and knew his skill set back to his days as the DC at Florida State where he won a NC.

Try watching some actual football and you won't have to use google to see a good coach!

Either learn to read or keep up. I don't care which you choose.

If you get this mad over a message board comment, I feel sorry for your husband.

Says the guy that apparently can dish it out but can't take it. It's okay to say you made a mistake and read my post wrong.

Kirby smart walked into a Junior/Senior lead team and a lot better situation than whoever gets the Tennessee job this year.
No he didn't. There are ways it might have been a better situation but he did not walk into a great team. He walked into a team at low ebb. He played a lot of young players last year and has several playing this year.

He coached that team up. Many of their best performers as Jrs and Srs now... were oft injured or considered busts. Sound familiar?

UT needs to be coached up. Pruitt may be the guy or maybe not. But he will have a team that returns a lot of talent and an opportunity to add some immediate contributors to it if he can pull the recruiting class back together.

Unfair comparison, Smart has a few years before we see what he can really do with all of his own players and stuff, but has been impressive thus far with Richts Talented roster!
He's recruiting well. Being in the playoff will only make that easier.

To your point though... one of the real tests of a new coach is whether they can get the best out of what was left to them. Some of us were skeptical of Jones for that very reason. He had the talent to win more than 5 games in his first year.... he didn't have the ability as a coach.

Why isn’t this done?

Fulmer: Here's my offer
Pruitt: Great I'll take it. When can I start work?
Fulmer: Every read VolNation message boards?? let's mess with those guys and not announce it right away.
Pruitt: I'll bring the popcorn.

The funny thing with the rumors of being a cancer, ladies man and a dirt bag only surfaced when he left these programs. Mark Richt didn’t get along with him because he wasn’t in the choir with Richt on sundays and he was too hard on the kids. FSU players loved him and didn’t want him to leave. The rumor Saban had to basically forgive him for what happened the first time around at Bama was just that a rumor that he thought long and hard about, maybe 15mins, he was named Bama DC before Kirby landed in Athens.

If you follow his career you’d know his merit and what he can bring to UT, surround himself with a great staff and if anything we’ll have a great D that brings it on Saturdays and delivers punishing hits and making the opposing teams dread playing UT like they did in Fulmers great yrs. Its time for our team to move forward and get out of its way for a change and Pruitt might be the guy to lead us that way or he might not but I’m willing to try it instead of a really good O that puts up 35+ and still loses
