I'm sold now on this staff

I felt as if we should have been 5-1 coming into this game. But, today's game was a turning point I feel. I now feel if we were to play UCLA and Auburn again, we'd win. I didn't feel like that until today. JMO.

I will up the anty. If JC played Florida with the confidence he is playing with now we would have a great team.

Once this staff gets the players they want we might, just might experience the 90's all over again.

If we had GA kickers (punter and kicker) we win today. We outplayed Bama today! Saban was a whiner after the game "We're tired". He got his A## outcoached today and he knows it!

I think it is glaringly obvious to everyone, whether they want to admit it or not, we have moved way beyond where we were last year. Kiffin has outcoached two of the best in the business and would have wins over Florida and Alabama with a little more depth and fewer injuries. The biggest thing he has done is restore DISCIPLINE and belief to the team. And, Monty has our D believing and playing hard for 4 quarters. Everyone said we'd play a good game, but Tennessee just doesn't have the depth to hold off Alabama for 4 quarters! How wrong they were! We played hard all day and should have had another win!

I've been sold on the staff, but today sold me on my one major complaint: Kiffin's handling of Crompton. The guy was right, I was completely wrong, and I''m not ashamed to admit it.

The wildcat is still a serious weapon however, no matter what folks want to call it.

With low talent this staff has almost knocked off 2 number 1 teams this season. You can't ask for anymore right now IMO. The loss hurt today but deep down inside I know our time is coming. It's clear that Monte doesn't like unorthodox ed offenses but against typical offenses he is a genius!

Its not surprising that after our teams past couple of performances, the PosiVol/Vol5150 type IDIOTS are much harder to find around here. They are either cowards, or busy chewing that crow they will be eating all the way to our National Championship game win in 2011.

OK so you see why Pete Carroll is always mad when
these assistants (Norm Chow, Lane Kiffin, Ed Orgeron) leave....:banghead2:

I'm sold on this staff too, but I still think it was a very bad decision to not run at least one more play to try to get closer for the FG. Lane decided with 35 seconds left that we were kicking. Given what we'd already seen in that game, we should not have been satisfied with kicking from 44 yards. That was a mistake. Great game otherwise by Lane and his staff.

I agree...UT was still looking at a 40- ish FG ...they should
of tried 1 more pass..I know it is risky with no TO but...

anyway, thanks for letting me post on this board I really
hate the Tim Tebow hahaha

Kiffin explained after the game his reasoning behind that decision. He said that his team worked so hard to get there that he didn't want another penalty or sack to screw it up for them.

He felt kicking the 44 yarder was their best chance to win. I agree with him too. When you're facing the #1 defense in the nation, too much can go wrong when you're barely in FG range with less than 1 minute to go. And lots of stuff did go wrong when they got into FG range earlier in the game, and Kiffin didn't want the same thing to happen again when they had a chance to win. If UT did run another play and then fumbled, got a false start or holding penalty, or threw an INT, you'd curse Kiffin for not kicking the FG then.

I understand his reasoning. I disagree, but I do see now where he was coming from. And, no, I would not have been cursing Kiffin for a penalty, sack, or turnover. Given how the earlier kicks beyond 40 yards turned out, he should have decided that our odds of winning were greater with risking another play than with kicking from that spot.

I was pissed when Kiffin went with the FG, but I got over it when I figured Lincoln had a better shot than Crompton.

Fulmer left kiffin a bare cupboard---when Lane restocks with 5 star talent up and down the roster like florida and bama, he'll be dominating the SEC---mark it down!

If CLK had faked the FG on the last play, direct snapped to Lincoln and let him throw it to the left side of the field. It was wide open.

You might do that with more time left. That's actually an interesting idea for trying to get closer. But, I'll doubt that they'd try that on the last play of the game.
