I am excited that we have Coach Dooley on board. I loved the article Hooker wrote a few days ago about how Dooley is looking to recruit high character guys to the team with good work ethic. I love lofty recruiting rankings as anyone else does, but I would rather have a 2 or 3 star laying it on the line for his university than a 5 star doing his impression of Jamal Lewis as a junior. Let's all get behind Dooley, and celebrate the fact that we have a coach selling our great university to high character kids, rather than a moron selling his alleged great staff as a pre NFL training camp to some spoiled "gifted athletes".

I know...I mean, how dare Kiffin bring in Bryce Brown and Janzen Jackson!!!!!!

Is this whole "Dooley is going to be great here because he is a nice guy" thing ever going to stop?

How about changing it to 3 and 4 star? 2 star is not going to get it done.

I know, Janzen is just a pot head who helped rob 2 hilbillies at a gas station. Bryce got his head out of his a$$, but not until he got laid out 3 times in practice last year. I don't know if he will be great here, only time will tell. It is just good to enjoy for right now. At least we won't be on probation in 2 years.

Notable Vols 2 stars, Dan Williams, Montori Hughes, Al Wilson, Joey Kent, Inky Johnson, i'm sure there are more I am forgetting.

If he brings in 2* guys for a couple years then his record is going to get him a different job.

I'm sick of hearing that only "thugs and punks" are 4-5 stars. He'll do fine recruiting top guys that have character. Stop making it one or the other...

Really? You mean how Bryce could have complained about not getting many carries down the stretch, yet sucked up his pride and realized that Montario was the best option? Really now? That is horrible...

And Janzen was cleared of ALL charges...nice job playing the "guilty by association" card...

I know for a fact that Al Wilson was more than a 2*

We had a glee club whip our butts in a bowl game this year. Va Tech never has a great recruting class.

Yet they still had more talent that us because Fulmer was lazy on the recruiting trail...

Hey Lane, nice to see you back. Cleared of all charges doesn't mean innocent, it means they didn't have enough to pin it on him. Don't tell me he didn't know about it, he was still riding with them 30 min after the fact. Even a moron would know to get away from that situation.

That glee club killed us because Fulmer's recruiting had fallen to utter garbage, but it did match his coaching. You're describing a similar period.

Yeah, our lack of depth and D injuries had nothing to do with it,,not to mention that game changing drop for a sure TD.

Yeah, I'm all for bringing in high character guys and coaching them up...oh wait, we have a coach who went 4-8 last year? Oh screw that. We need as many 5 star recruits as we can get.
