So my uncle just recently got engaged to the love of his life, and I cannot be more happy for him. He has been through a lot and this marriage is a blessing.

So the bride gets to pick the wedding date, and what day does she pick.

October 25th...Tennessee v/s Alabama. I could have thrown up! This wedding is more important I know, but its still the thought of not seeing probably the biggest home game this year.

So what does this mean for you all? I more than likely will have two extra tickets to sell. They are INCREDIBLE seats. Section P row 12. PM,if your interested. If I get the season tickets like I plan, these will probably become available.

I am going to hope for a 8:00 or 9:00 Start of the ballgame. Maybe ESPN would do it? If so, I would be able to go.

Just had to let VN feel my pain this morning!:ermm:

Congratulations to your Uncle, Sorry to hear about the Wedding Date but I would think the most important Home game this year will be Florida @ Tennessee.

I feel that game is going to define our year.

On the Flip side I am interested in those tickets if they do become available. I like taking my daughter to at least one Home game each year and that one would be a good one to go to.

Yea, I guess Florida would be the biggest home game. With the tradition Alabama and Tennessee has and the way the killed us last year, i figured pretty big game.

While Florida did destroy us, revenge is going to be sweet on both these teams ( hopefully)

Just send me a PM so I have your name in there if I get the tix and decided to sell them.

I got married on October 20th, 2007.

Can you tell me who we played that day? Apparently I didn't miss much...

...and this is why my wife and I eloped in December. Of course we had to watch us get beat by Penn St in a bowl game on our honeymoon but still...

You know the part during the ceremony where they ask the audience if there is any reason these two should not wed. Speak up and say because we are missing Alabama/Tennesse! (only do this if the both sides of the family have a really good sense of humor)

If she would pick the day of the TN/Bama game for the wedding he should immediately call off the wedding. It is a bad sign. :)

Congratulations to your uncle.

My first wife's best friend got married the day of the TN/Ark game in '98...to an Ark fan. The reception was fun.

Each of my friends and family members already knows that, if they get married on a Vols football Saturday, I will not be attending the wedding. It's a big day for them, and they probably won't even notice my absence anyway. But, if they really really want me there, they need to schedule the wedding on a bye week.

I couldn't be happier for them, and I'll send gifts...but I won't be in attendance.

They also know that they better not die in the fall. And, if they do, the funeral better not be on a Saturday...if they want me there, it will need to be postponed until the following Monday.

I'm all talk.

If someone close (best friend or family member) to me was getting married, I'd go to the wedding....but, I'd be a bit of a grouch.

I have skipped some friends' weddings though in order to attend UT games.

I am getting married on Oct 4th, I picked the day after looking at the schedule and seeing that we were playing N. Illinois and figuring that it would be a pay-per-view game anyway.

On a side note I went to a wedding in FL and everybody skipped the reception and was in the hotel bar watching FL-FL ST play each other, the newlyweds even came in there.

The way I see it, there are 52 weeks in a year, and 12-14 of them are off limits. There are at least 36 other weekends for them to choose from.

She would know those were the rules from the get-go.

exactly. it's really not asking much. the excuse that really pisses me off is the "that is the only day we could get the venue of our dreams." right. i'm sure they have no availability in march or april. my best friend had his wedding the weekend of the Cal/Tenn game last year. I had to watch the game at the bar of the rehersal dinner restuarant after i missed the first quarter because of the rehersal. all my buddies not in the wedding went to the game. :realmad:

i have to call bs here. first off any real vol fan will pay for the pay per view and want to watch the game. also i expect there will be fans from other college teams there at the wedding and no doubt will have to miss an important game. can't we just agree on NO FALL WEDDINGS?

:)
