I'm pretty sure we just got insulted.

Tennessee was 7-1-1 vs Alabama from '93-'01 and 8-1 vs Arkansas... Tennessee's record in their 3rd game vs the West was 7-2. Tenn's record in the SECCG was 2-1. Tenn's total record vs the West from '93-'01 was 24-5-1. I could go one too.

Tennessee is not the whole SEC East.

Half of the SEC East was homecoming during the 90's.

SC, Vandy, and Kentucky were brutal.

You can not dismiss the Kentucky and the Vanderbilt factor.

Florida is 49-1 against those teams since 92. Tennessee is 45-5. Georgia is 43-7.

Now, I'm sorry. Pick any two teams from the SEC West and no one is going 43-7 or better against them over a 25 year period, let alone 3 teams.

Top to bottom, the SEC West will always be better than the East as long as those two turds are in the division.

And with the addition of A&M to the West and Mizzou to the East, and Carolina post-Spurrier.....just be thankful to be in the East.

Has nobody mentioned that if we were all Arkansas fans that we would be saying, right now, "if we were in the East we would have won it 3 out of the last 5 years"?

I've always believed the West was better even when Florida and Tennessee were on top.

Obviously, what you are saying can most certainly come to pass.

But, that's not the here and now. The here and now is that playing in the East is a cakewalk compared to the West and we all enjoy inflated records because of it.

Outside of Bama, who exactly is the juggernaut in the West?

Hey BeecherVol, since you are struggling with the use of the word irony, I figured I would show you an example.

Exhibit A - Random knuckledragger points out 'facts' and then proceeds to transition into a guess as to what side of the political spectrum I supposedly fall on based on a sports discussion.

Hey sandy, when you keep coming back
Why does anyone care about any of the topics in the football forum? It's the offseason and there's a limited amount of information to discuss.
you keep piling it up.

I see the sand still remains.

I looked up Arkansas' schedule for next year. There are 4 common conference opponents with Tennessee.

AL, LSU, SC, Mizzou. (AL, LSU and SC are road games for them)

Would you trade playing FL, GA, KY and Vandy for Miss, Miss State, A&M, and Auburn?

Wow...Someone has lied and made you believe that you are clever. Nice play on my handle. Maybe I should refer to you as B!tcherVol moving forward. At least that somewhat makes sense. Which is another example of irony seeing as though you whine about the program and claim I have 'sand' (whatever that means). And I didn't respond to the quoted post simply because it seemed pointless that you cited it to begin with. I feel like I'm arguing with a malfunctioned robot every time you respond.

Hey, I can't help you there.

The West is overrated check our record lately.

Vandy is pretty tough too, don't sleep on them.

On a side note.

What's going on with the HS kids on the other side of the board?

That looks even to me. I say that with the expectation that Georgia will be a lot better this season while Texas A&m will turn in their usual 8-5. I think Florida will be a little better than Auburn and Kentucky will be just as good as Miss State. Ole Miss may be better than Vandy - but not a lot better.

There's only one objective way to compare East and West: on the field.

Last year was a bad year for the East, but not the worst:

East%20vs%20West%20through%202016%20upd.png

2010 and 2015 were the worst.

We still haven't re-established parity with the West. Until we do, any comparison of a 9-4 team from the East with an 8-5 team from the West is probably gonna be pretty fair.

Arkansas is a peer competitor, just like Florida and Georgia. Since they beat us the last time we met, you have to give the edge to them.

Agree, FL-UGa-Vandy-Ky is pretty even with A&M-Auburn-Ole Miss-Miss St. Edge to the West, but not as off-balance as some might be trying to make the case.

We talk about what hot trash Vandy and Kentucky are, but people without long memories forget Miss St and Ole Miss have spent long parts of their existence in the same sort of basement.

But getting the Mississippi programs down under our collective boots is not the key to re-establishing parity between the divisions. For that, Tennessee needs to start winning again. It is no coincidence that the loss of parity in 2009 pretty closely follows the beginning of Tennessee's Dark Ages.

If I were ranking those teams I'd say:

Auburn
Georgia
Florida
A&M
Miss
KY
Vandy
Miss State

Thanks JP, Nice graph. It shows pretty much what I thought and what most have said, but it's nice, for me, to see it like this.

This thread makes me think of the subject that pops up every year at some point about being fans of Tennessee, not the SEC and how some don't care what everyone else is doing in the SEC. I'm one of those, but seeing how bad the East has been the last few years, I can't help but feel hypocritical. Make sense?

So like earlier poster said, when Tennessee is back the east is better than the west. Might be slight but we are the difference.

Also getting Missouri and A&M plays a significant role as well I'm sure.

Just like that? It doesn't matter what the other 6 in the East are doing? Or, what the 7 in the West are doing?

You messing with me?
