The cure is to just stop Butching.

As you've intimated in a subsequent post Woodsman, perhaps there is no cure. At least not yet known to modern medicine in this Galaxy.

Looked at another way, the Butch years are a horrible yet undeniable period in the development of the Vol one-mind which yearns for a Cosmic Shrink to perform an Exorcism or Electroshock or some other such Voodoo to erase that portion of our Memory Banks forever.

The real cure is if you don't like "***** about Butch" threads don't come in the "***** about Butch" thread and tell everyone to stop *****ing about Butch. That let's everyone be happy.

That's a pretty good prescription, though some of course will never "be happy" without a huge dose of horse tranquilizer. But it's all in good fun, from my point of view. I don't take it that seriously.

I agree. However, I like playing and poking people who work so hard to be mad about something. They're so much fun.

Disagree. I highly doubt many fans would accept the HC job at Tennessee. Especially given the expectations. I would be willing to bet 99% of fans would say no thanks.

Butch is every bit the idiot most of us believe. He did things that utterly baffle the mind and made decisions that even high school football coaches knew better than to make. We dont know Pruitt is going to be a decent head coach. We all think and hope he will be.

I think Butch knows why he failed here. He knew he was in over his head. Look at the assistant coaches he hired. That alone should have told you all you needed to know.

And people talk about players quiting during the year well clearly they learned it from Butch. The guy was probably trying to avoid being linked to 4-8. Too late - the whole year was his debacle.

Imagine this; if Butch became the head coach at say, Kentucky, Kiffin became the head coach at Missouri and Fulmer became the head coach at Ohio State, to go along with Dooley coaching somewhere.
