I'm not even mad

Yep, I've emotionally checked out. As many around here know I used to get really worked up over it and would rant, rave, and lash out. Now, as another poster said, I'm just numb to it all. I'm tired of getting my hopes up only to be let down. I'm tired of spending the following week trying to figure out exactly where it all went wrong. It is what it is. I'm just tired.

I started playing Halo at halftime. I realize it was halftime, but I knew it was over.

Its the 5 stages of Vol Fan grief. The final stage is acceptance. Some get there faster than others. I'm still in the anger stage with some bargaining thrown in.

You speak the truth of Vol Nation, at least those who care enough to say the words. It has been debilitating, soul-numbing disappointment for too long. And I can't see where the fun is anymore.

Do some of you not even get mad anymore? I watched this entire game with zero emotion. My wife kept asking what was wrong. I'm usually cussing and throwing the cat when we lose but tonight I just chuckled and made a big Jethro sized bowl of froot-loops. I guess I've just checked out this season.

Should at least let the cat know its gonna be ok....

Last week I was texting my buddies and going nuts. Tonight I got one text and it was just "Vols, lol". You can see it on the fans faces that were at the game. The camera showed a section on the next to last drive and nobody was making a sound on 3rd down with arky driving.

Trust me I know this. Except it's all my friends that's gator fans. I should start a thread, except for they are right. Some of them are funny.

I've done every stupid, emotional thing you can imagine rooting for my beloved alma mater over the years - burned hats, gotten kicked out of bars, etc. (didn't say I was proud). Like you at this point? I'm just disgusted. Numb. Apathetic. We suck. I don't know if it can be fixed. Maybe I should just quit this foolishness and go play poker on Saturdays? But my passion and love for Saturday game days is gone at this point. I'm just waiting for the inevitable (4-8 I'm guessing) then we fire yet another coach, hire some other loser, have another crappy season and listen to more "blah, blah, blah, blah".

The bad plays bothered me but I had no reactions to the positive ones, at least not in the 2nd half. I was excited at first, but by mid 2nd quarter it was gone and never returned.

Exactly the same. I feel sorry for our young men. I will always support our players.

I had every intention of building a fire in the backyard and slow cooking a big Dutch oven full of homemade chili but said screw it. I'm not really interested in even watching the game. I let the fire go out and put the ingredients up and sat through a game I knew deep down we were gonna blow. And we did.

I just got diagnosed with an ascending aortic aneurysm. I'm not that old to have this and I'm very thankful to be fully prepared with blowing double digit leads or this post wouldn't be happening now. I've said 2016 when CBJ was hired and will not blow a fuse until then.

didn't watch, went to a concert. knew what would happen anyway. told everybody butch sucks at the end of the year him along with hart should be fired. I just don't really care anymore. Tennessee is a crap university when it comes to sports. they make money and in the end that is all that matters. I truly believe I have seen my last game in neyland.

I was wondering if I was the only one feeling that way, tonite didn't even bother me, in fact I kinda expected it, what a joke of a football performance; we loose at home to a team that lost to Toleda for crying out loud! what a nightmare!!

I honestly don't care any more. I'm convinced that Tennessee football won't be relevant again any time soon.

sorry I just couldn't resit that comment :),there is still a crap load of Football to be played this year and I am looking forward to each and every game

is it looking like a tough year ? Hell yea,so suck it up all you buttercups and root for the Vols, you know you are going to,no matter what you post after a suck ass game and we all know it :good!:

I was so pissed that I though that I was going to explode myself lol

I also felll the same way. It feels a lot like dooleys last season or 2012 after this game. Like those teams two touchdown lead was never safe due to sorry ass coaching. We suck and will until a coaching change is made. I really don't give a crap anymore. As long as Butch is here I will never get season tix again.

Glad to know I'm not alone. I too sat on the couch emotionless. My buddy who hates football even text and said "Tennessee blew another one". I do agree with many of you that Butch is not the answer and he and Hart need to go.

This season has been so rough, and we have just started. It looks to get a lot worse. The Oklahoma loss was tough, Florida was seemingly unbelievable and now Arkansas seems even more unbelievable. I want to say I'm done and wont watch the rest of the season, but the diehard fan in me won't let me do it. In a day or so I'll subconsciously start trying to justify all that has gone wrong. I'll slowly do that until I actually start to buy into it. By game day next Saturday I'll have myself believing we can beat Georgia.

After this game i didn't even want to think about football. But again, somehow found myself wanting to witness this website go into suicide watch. After watching the post game conference with Jones, my opinion changed. Jones looked visually upset. Sure he ranted with his usual mindless coach speak to be PC, but he had a look of heartbreak. He wants this, seemingly as bad as we do. Whether he has it or not, who knows. But he wants it. What do you want from him post-game? To come up, cry and say we suck and that he sucks and that he's a loser and just quit? Completely unrealistic. He thought/thinks he has "it" to succeed here. So did many others. He still might, or maybe he never did. Regardless, he's here for financial reasons, regardless of his success, for a while.

Why get mad? I didn't see much emotion from the team or coaches tonight. No sense of urgency, almost like they game was scripted and they knew they were destined to lose. If they don't care why should I?
