I teared up at the end tonight. I became a UT fan at the end of Majors carrer here so Fulmer is really the only UT coach I have ever known.

Seeing him get carried out tonight really choked me up. I wish I could have been in Knoxville to see it in person.

I was really hoping they would carry him off the field. Glad he could go out with a win.

I am 29 and I came in at the end of Majors, so Fulmer is all that I have known for a coach at UT. Wow! It was a tough thing to watch. It even got to my wife a little.

I was thinking the same. I was actually getting a little disappointed in the players, but they came through and carried him off on their shoulders. Great send off for a great UT player/coach/Vol.

Im the same way. I couldnt help but get teary eyed when they carried him off. Im 30 and been watching the Vols since I was a little kid. But my generation didnt understand much about UT football in the early 80's. I started understanding football around the time that Andy Kelly and Chuck Webb and Reggie Cobb were at UT. So CPF has for the most part been all ive known at UT. Regardless of how old you are, and all the special moments that you might have seen at Neyland. That was truely a special moment at Neyland Stadium tonight when CPF was carried off the field.

It was emotional watching Fulmer being carried off the field tonight and I think alot of the man but I thought it was time for a change, but it is going to be very weird next season looking on the sideline and not seeing Coach Fulmer on the sideline. Good Coach Fulmer and best wishes!!!!!

It was a great game to be at. Im 22 and he is the only coach i have known. I thought it was his time, but I am very glad I decided to make it to the game. Good Luck CPF, and God bless. Go Vols!!!!!!!!!

You know what that means. UT ball has been his life for a long time. And he has given a lot of his time to UT. Now yes he was paid. But you know what is meant by that statement. Dont be an ass

I think it was emotional for anyone has has followed Tennessee football for an extended period of time. Glad to see him go off in style.

The assertion that Phillip "is" Tennessee Football, though, is belittling our University, and it's a statement that I'm certain he would disagree with, as well. That's the kind of man he is. He knows and appreciates his place in UT history.

Fulmer isn't Tennessee football by any means...but that sure was tough to watch. I applaud him for the way him went out. He sure did it with as much dignity as he could.
This whole thing just really made people realize that he is a real person.
My wife is good friends with his oldest daughter, and she's shared stories about how the Fulmer kids have always had stress issues whenever the team plays. I even heard that coach Brooks's daughter yacked before every game...just because of nerves for her pops.

I clapped here at home and I *knew* the players would lift him onto their shoulders, I was just hoping ESPN wouldn't cut away before it happened.

glad i'm not the only one who clapped when he was carried off. i didn't even realize i was doing it at first. while tn fball is bigger than any one man, fulmer is a big part of tn fball

I agree heck the spring game will be weird for me.

It was Fulmers time to go no doubt, but i is going to be hard for me not seeing him prowling the sidelines.

I guess you can say UT Football has officially entered the 21st Century.

Stayed in my seat until they set him down in the endzone and he walked back through the tunnel for the final time. Totally cool.
