I feel like some players, especially Thompson and possibly Stokes NEED SET PLAYS.

McRae and Barton can create their own plays.

Not sure if our other players can.. so why not have specific plays for our players?

It would BOOST confidence for sure.

What makes you think there aren't set plays for the bigs?
When the ball is passed to a big down-low, that, in itself, is a set play. What the big does with it is where the rubber meets the road. Do they finish or not?
GO VOLS!

Our big guys get the ball stuffed back their faces too much. Weak around the rim.

There's no set play that will help them if they cannot shoot. Stokes and Mayman cannot shoot period. It's throw it up at the rim and hope they get a foul call so they can go miss the free throws. We have no bigs with any athletic ability.

To be fair Maymon looked like this his first year here and then looked great before he got hurt. Problem is he does not have another season to regain form and may never get it back.

That's alright Dougie about not being a coach, neither is Martin.

I know absolutely nothing about BB. However, it seems to me our bigs get the ball so far under the basket that they have to bend over backwards to get off a shot.

Feeding Maymon the ball down low is close to the equivalent of committing a turnover. He either misses the shot or gets fouled and misses the free throws. Stokes is almost as bad with slightly better chance to make a free throw than Maymon. Our two big guys are shooting around 40% combined from 3 feet in... just terrible.

That's what CCM is getting paid to figure out!

It seems, both our bigs are bothered by length.
Stokes does most of his scoring when his team mates set him up with an open look or when his shots are contested by smaller players.
Maymon aside from not being close to game shape isn't able to muscle his way into position as he did 2 years ago because of new rules.
And of course, Martin isn't creative enough to come up with a solution.

I'm not a coach, I don't play a coach on TV, and I didn't even sleep in a Holiday Inn last night, but I know piss-poor coaching when I see it.

Wow. So when you go to any playground bball game across the country they are running set plays? This is a new one on me.

A post feed does not constitute a set play.

I can excuse a lot of stuff, but when a game is lost at the free throw line, I rage. Sometimes we're hot, usually we're not. I mean, how many games did we lose last year because of missed fts? We can't fall in to that rut again.
