Alright, so I don't watch NFL at all. I find it boring. The reason being is I do not have a team.

When I was young (15-20 years ago) I loved watching the Cowboys but who didn't? I can't get into the Titans.

I would like to find a team. What's the best way to go about this?

Yes, I'm at work and avoiding paperwork. Entertain me. :eek:lol:

You like Peyton or Eric Berry? Broncos or Chiefs are both good and give you a rooting interest.

I like both. However, a close friend is a huge arrogant Broncos fan so no way I could root for them.

I tried to watch the Pats for a few weeks. I figured since I root for Tennessee sports (Vols and Preds) I should be allowed to like one winning team.

I just couldn't pick them up.

Does this mean I'm not a true football fan? I can watch college all day. NFL is just hard to get into.

I usually spend Sundays watching the EPL.

Chiefs are a rival of the Broncos, you get to root against your friend and for Eric Berry.

I'm a long life suffering Lions fan, and I always will be. I love our fans, we are real. Being a Detroit fan is in my DNA just like being a Vol.

But if I were picking a new team to root for this year it would be the Chiefs. They are the feel good story of the year, they have a qb and coach that were unwanted by their former teams.

If the Titans and Broncos are out, and all losing teams are out, I'd recommend trying to start watching the Chiefs (as many others have said, there a lot of former Vols on the team) or the Seahawks. Heck, maybe even the Saints. They're always entertaining.

I would say the Bears. However our dumbass management just fired a damn fine coach after going 10-6 and we are on our way towards 10-12 years of mediocrity :( ...I would say the Titans but they're a bigger clown show than the Bears. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. Thanks a bunch for letting me cry in your thread.

Why not the Titans?

I think region is the best way to pick a team. If you chose a team for a style of play or a specific player, those are things that will change. I can't help but be a fan of teams where I live. I watch the Cardinals every week cause that's what they show here and they are starting to grow on me.

I will concur that it is fun to be a fan of the home team. You get a lot more coverage and the games are always on.

It has made following the Cowboys and the Rangers a lot more fun.

I just have a hard time watching the Titans for some reason. Just never enjoyed watching any of their games. It may be because they are in the NFL. I just don't think I can stomach rooting for another team that is going to experience decades of despair.

Basically I'm not necessarily wanting to be a bandwagon fan. I just would like to root for a team that will occasionally make the 2nd round of the playoffs and maybe a AFC/NFC championship here and there.

I agree. I grew up a die hard Bears fan as there was no home pro team. And at this moment I'm still a Bears fan. But I take a great deal of pride in having an NFL team in Tennessee. So it's 1a) Bears 1b) Titans. And at this moment it looks as if I'm in for a long road of misery with both teams. If one of the two or the Vols don't get it together....

I don't know if I'm alone here on my views of the Titans. I have always resented them moving to the state. I grew up with the Vols being the only show in the state and I have always felt that we have suffered, losing the spotlight and fans to The Titans.
