It’s just so interesting what we cling to.
What if you found out that your favorite player was an atheist, or gay, or a democrat, or all three? Heavens to Betsy.
My favorite players are all Vols; they can sleep with whomever they like as long as nobody's injured or forced. As I'm not a zealot, I'm not a fan of involuntary prayer.

But we all have bias and viewpoints and that colors our conversationsand our perspectives.
I, for one, am not trying to make it political ... but I am an independent thinker. Biden was my president and now Trump is my president and there were and are things I disliked about both. But I was and am still a Vol fan.
But by arguing that we should remove both political points of view and religious convictions from our discussions, doesn't that mean you are espousing an apolitical and antireligious point of view that you are asking us to adopt. Isn't that the same thing that others are doing ... expressing their point of view????
Freak has stated that politics are not welcome on this forum. Wish the same were true of religion.
I’m here for Vol sports. That’s all.

If that were true, Notre Dame and Liberty would never lose.
If there is a God, hopefully there are bigger concerns than sports to intervene on.
Many people confuse following the church for following in the footsteps of Christ. Whatever helps you get there matters, but false idols are everywhere.

I know I’m not trying hard enough. Every day I wonder whether I ever will. Christ, please have mercy.

Lord, please spare me from your followers.

I've never understood why anyone, like yourself, would comment on a post like this. It is a wonderful thing see for those of us who follow Christ. I now understand! I prayed for you while I was filling up with gas earlier today. I hope that you are able to develop a relationship with my risen savior. I also encourage others to pray for those who think they are walking alone and that this earthly vessel is the end. Go VOLS!

Because I don’t see praying as a wonderful thing.
I know most do and at one time I did.
Now I just see it as silly talking to myself.
Those of us who don’t believe in anything extra terrestrial are just fine with living for today and not some glorious afterlife.
But, once again, as a former “believer”, I understand the pull of religion and how it makes many feel better about dying.
I used to feel that way.

All that being said, arguing religion is a circular argument.
I can no more convince you that there is not a God than you can convince me that there is one.
Go Vols! We certainly all ageee on that. 🤗

Good lord. It never ends with some of you.
Please leave religion and politics out of my Vol sports message boards. This isn’t church. Geez. You are insufferable with your proselytizing.
But then again, I used to be too before I got educated.

Many gay and bi people, especially those in the public eye, lead double lives. He may or may not. Who cares?
Apparently, you do! Your fascination with the subject, which you introduced to the conversation, indicates proclivities within yourself. Hmmmm.

I just would love to see religious discussions here moved elsewhere.
I think prayer is silly. I understand that most southerners disagree with me.
How many posts do we see here with people asking for prayers.
And having to scroll thru posts about how great it is that some sports people are religious is a waste of my time.
This is NOT A RELIGION BOARD. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL BOARD.
TAKE YOUR FAIRY TALES ELSEWHERE , PLEASE…and use this board to discuss what it was designed for which is football, primarily the Vols. Thanks.
Otherwise, if Freak only wants white male heterosexual republican Christians to use this site, he should tell us that. It’s his board.

I WAS very religious at one time.
Did the whole being saved, baptized, youth ministry, etc.
But as I grew older and more inquisitive, religion and the thought of an afterlife of my “soul” as some kind of a beam of light bouncing around in “heaven”’ just doesn’t work for me any longer.
But I fully understand why people need to believe in an afterlife. Most people’s egos just can’t deal with a finite ending to life.
But some, like this link, are like me and have turned away from religion and are happier for it/

Wow what a statement ‘before I got educated’, I believe it shows your ignorance to the actual subject of matter.
