I'm just not a fan of Blob Kessling

Ok, I'm gonna have to agree. It seems like Kesling tells you what's going on after it happens and the good ones tell you as it's happening. The announcer for the Titans games, (Mike Keith, I think) is really good. He makes the games exciting even if I can't see what's going on.

The best analogy for Bob is an athlete and the speed of the game. After so many games, the game slows down for a player. 10 years and running, the game is still to fast for Bob. Outside of the radio booth, Bob is fine man and great representative of the university. Every time I have been around him, he has taken time to speak to the fans and treat them well.

Even though Bob Kesling sucks as an announcer, anyone coming after John Ward would suck in comparison. He was the most original announcer I have ever heard. Radio announcing used to be an artform because that was the main medium in which people got their sports. John Ward was an artist while Bob Kesling is that dude on the corner at street fairs doing caricatures of you and your girlfriend.

I agree. In the scheme of things, he really does an OK job. He probably makes a few too many mistakes, but his biggest problem is that he is following Ward.

compared to Ward he is a bum. compared to most of the guys i've heard around the country, he's great.

you left out sitting in a tree stand looking for something to shoot. John Ward was a great companion for many UK games (which always seemed to fall on opening day of rifle season)

Kessling is no John Ward...but I think he does a good job.

I personally think the job should have been Mike Keith's. I don't know that even applied for it. Ii guess I just like him.
