Any suggestions on what to go with? I'm definitely looking for the biggest bang for my buck. Not looking for the top notch one, but I don't want a piece of crap either.

Where's a good place to look? Who has the best prices?

Just wait for Milo to show up and tell you how AWESOME the Sonys are.

I wonder if they pay him commission?

I have a Samsung tube HDTV that I love. Of course, they weigh a ton, and you can't get them any bigger than about 32".

If you go with a flat, stick with LCD. I'm anti-plasma. If you go with a projection, probably DLP. :hi:

Sony or Panasonic. I paid 2000. for a Sony 40 inch LCD and it has been awsome. Dont do plasma if you have sunlight hitting your TV. LCD no burn in, Plasma has burn in.

The heat they produce is ungodly, and you can burn an image like on a CRT. I just think LCD is a superior technology. :)

Plasma strengths-Color is a lil better, price
LCD strengths-less heat, no glare, burn in, older technology, weight,

I've heard that but found that to be a misconception. Or least with mine. It gets warm but not hot. LCD is good but the colors are not as bright.

You're wrong. The Plasma has a better picture but drawbacks are reflection, burn in (almost gone these days though), produces more heat then LCD but isn't hot, and weight. The LCD is easier on the wallet and produces good color too. So, in the end I could afford the Plasma and decided to go with the color and deal with some of the draw backs. Go to a store and check them out side by side if you can.

been there done that. yes pictures are brighter, but i don't want to have to deal w/ what drawbacks there are. i just like lcd's, i have a plasma in my bedroom, but i'm going to get an lcd. thanks i've done my research:salute:
