I'm gonna throw this out there

Let's concentrate on Tennessee right now. There will be a time when we need to focus on beating the NFL farm team Saban has. One game at a time.

The game was at Cowboys Stadium. Probably closer to home game for Bama. Regardless Bama looked scary good. Chances TN beats them are slimmer than finding life on Mars.

Cowboy stadium? I knew that but was too dumb to realize I did. You're right about Bama looking scary good, especially the defense which is supposed to be weaker this year. They are a well-oiled unit as far as I could see.

Uh, about Mars, there's a good chance of finding life there but (oxymoron alert) it will be dead. Based on observations to date, Mars at one time was a wetter world than earth in terms of water area. And we know even here on Terra life can exist in extreme environments including volcanic events with water hot enough to charbroil a lobster, deep in sun-less caverns and even as acidic glop that makes you wonder if there's credence to Ridley Scott's acid blooded Alien creature.

Well here's my :twocents:,

We're definitely not going to beat them twice, so I'd rather beat them in December! Go Vols!

Take back the Dome in 2012!

This is now a space exploration thread.

I suppose so when we try finding space to run the backs between the tackles during the Bama game. Hopefully, our RBs do less exploring and our OL do more creating of space.

.. I think we have a solid shot at taking Bama this year.
Our receivers are big , fast, and talented. We can stretch the field with a QB who can accurately throw the bomb. Our line is good enough to open holes when the passing game is keeping the safeties back.
Defensively, we now have what every team that plays Bama needs... Mccullers. This kid is going to be most valuable against bama's all American center. If he can stale mate a double team block, the running game will not get going against us. Our secondary is better than their qb and recievers. As long as we can leave our safety back...

Did you just look past a fierce rival that perpetually dominates you to woof at Bama? You guys are insane.

Some like to put the cart before the horse. You just can't look past a team you haven't beat in 7 years. We'll get to bama when we get there.

Did you even read any of the other posts on this thread? One fan got over excited because we actually have hope of fielding a good team for the first time in 5 years.

Unless we fix 80% of the mistakes we made Friday , we will have a very slim chance of knocking off Bama. Our linemen on both sides of the ball would have to play out of their minds to have a legit shot at beating them. I would be shocked if Florida didn't give us all we can handle and then some. I'm not convinced we beat them.

Our OL was actually very good for the most part. I was at the game and was sitting in the end zone so it was hard to tell being at the game, but when I watched it on tv our OL was good except for a few mistakes in the second half in pass protection. The run blocking was a lot better than some of the RB's made it look. Neal was trying to bounce every run to the outside, I know he's a speed back but in major college football u can't do that and he did have some lanes he missed that would've resulted in some pretty big runs but instead he lost yards. I agree we are not ready to play bama yet cause they were very impressive against UM, but FL looked terrible and if they can't play with the lead they will struggle so I think FL will have their hands full stopping our O and if bowling green can shut them down I believe our D will hold it's own.

You mean the one that started the thread? Careful, it's stuff like this that could give Florida the idea you just don't care.

Did you see what they did to Michigan...or did you turn it off after the first quarter like the rest of America?

It is not hard to beat a one man team Bama is good but time will prove they are not as good as last years Bama team

I like your enthusiasm, but beating 'Bama will be tough.

The Bama CB's will not allow our WR's to get off cleanly; this will neutralize an attack based on floods.

Bama can pressure with four defensive linemen; that leaves the linebackers free to protect the middle.

We might be able to get our TE into the seam (or boundary between the zones), or we might be effective with screens.

Bama will be tough.

On a positive note---we will beat Florida.

Even Bama won't be able to cover one on one. It all depends on the Oline. If they give Bray time he'll move the ball on them. Stopping their running game is another matter all to itself. I'm not sure anyone can. LSU will have the best shot imo.

The truth is spoken in the post above. We beat an ACC team that had a fantasy being better than good. Bama went to the home of a Big Ten team that is better than NCSU and made them wash Alabama license plates with their tongues. These two things doesn't mean we beat Bama but it's possible. Any number of factors could come into play to make a victory possible. But certainly not first game outcomes.

You are aware the 'bama game was played in Dallas, yes?

What he meant to say was..... Bama made the supposed #8 team in America look like a high school team on a neutral field. For what's it's worth, Bama will play 3 or 4 other teams a lot better than Michigan this year.

To beat a great D like Bama's it sure helps to have great WR's and a QB with a gun that can score from anywhere on the field, because 12 play drives don't usually work against a team like that. I'm not saying we will win, but at least we're in the conversation.

They have what you call a puncher's chance. It's better than the last few years when they didn't have a prayer.

Finally somebody hit the bammer on the head. I think our offense will put up a good battle against bammer's D,,,,,but their run game was simply ridiculous against the 'vines. I'm not sure if M's defense was that porous,,,or if Lacy, Yeldon, and the O line are that good.

Bama was scary good... and like the rest of America, I too turned it off in the 1st quarter. I saw all I needed to see. Badmouth Michigan if it makes you feel better, but Bama is the real deal.

I don't understand why ppl are talking like Michigan is a great team. DR can't throw the ball his deep balls look more like a punt, and now that he doesn't have a big physical playmaker to go up and get it he will really struggle. They aren't even picked to win the Big 10 but yet they are some great team. NC State could beat Michigan on a netural field because they are not good. I'm not saying we will beat bama but lets be real here Michigan is a middle of the pack school and bama showed that.
