the drops would have put him at or a little over 300 yrds and a couple of those were third downs.

In the end 4 for 17 on third down was a killer. . . they had 87 plays. They were averaging 75 plays. We punted 8 times i think.

Im still shocked they got 87 offense plays.

Exactly, when it mattered, crapton was a NO SHOW. But he can hit Moore for a TD when a loss is already in the books.... Awesome.

I say Op should load one in the chamber and pull the trigger. I think both our QB's are horrible but 2 different staffs feel JC is the better of the 2. God forgive that someone who blogs knows more then the men making millions to decide. JC barring injury will finish the year, either accept it or get past it. Bringing up stats and beating your war drum is not going to change things.

You "NS lost to Wyoming" JC supports are pathetic.... OKAY let's just say that we lost that game because of NS... I extremely disagree, but for arguments sake, we'll say it was on NS.

HE HAD A COUPLE OF BAD THROWS!!

Crompton has DOUBLE the screw ups NS had in that game in a todays 1st quarter. The AU defenders just didn't capitalize on his screw ups like the two wyoming players did on NS screw ups.

And I'm saying put the player in that made us competitive in the game AT UGA and weren't for a couple bad calls and busted defensive plays, he might have actually won that game for us.

Two different staffs, the same conclusion, our QB situation sucks with who we have but Crompton has better tools to do the job. That comes from the guys who do it everyday.

You guys are some rons... Don't you get it.... With JC at the helm we're likely to lose every game left on our schedule. He's a senior, he will not be here, so why are we wasting reps on this clown? NS will supposedly compete for the starting job next year, so get him some game time experience now. It can only help for the future.

And maybe, JUST MAYBE Stephens proves to be the better option anyway and maybe the season is salvaged to some degree. With JC at QB, I really don't see us winning more than four games. You fake fans may not care if we go o'fer for the rest of the season, but I do!!

Think big picture CLK, start Stephens!

I would assume that NS will start next season. It could very easily be Bray or a JC QB.

Crompton threw the ball 43 times. Theres the problem. I understand at the end, we started to sling the ball around, which gave me a heart attack each time, but we should have never gotten to that point. Run, run, run, and a play action to keep the D honest. That has to be the game plan.

should have been

did u watch the game tonight??? i mean crompton is crompton, he had a couple of brain cramps and mistakes, but they were MUCH more limited tonight than usual...

the receivers dropped passes and adjusted poorly to the ball(i remember hancock doing a complete 360 to try and catch a ball, when he could have easily just caught it over the shoulder)

plus crompton did not play defense...our d could not stop the run to save their lives, they continuously over pursued and missed tackles, even eric berry missed one or two

I'll bet Crompton wouldn't say that he had a good game today. There are about 5 plays I'd love to have back. 2 of them were Hancock drops, the other 3 are passes thrown behind the receiver. Crompton didn't play bad, but he certainly wasn't good either.

I really hate to nitpick on playcalling, but I wasn't pleased with it tonight. 40ish attempts for Crompton? Seriously? Kiffin said he needed to do a better job in putting Crompton in a situation to succeed...40 attempts is not what I had in mind. I realize that when you're 17 points behind, you need to throw the ball. But I think he had something like 23 attempts at halftime?

Sure...Stephens has a bad game the same week CPF got fired (after 17 yrs...no small thing), and the team was in upheaval. Yeah...a real good basis for your argument...especially in light of all the games Crompton stunk up.

He looked better in the UGA game than Crompton ever has.
it was WYOMING! no excuses.

I don't understand what is so hard to comprehend about our QB situation...

Two separate coaching staffs have evaluated our QBs, and both staffs have come to the same conclusion: Nick Stephens is not as good as Crompton.

Crompton sucks. I realize this. I screamed at my TV tonight like the rest of you, begging and pleading for him to throw it in front of a crossing receiver. He can't. He sucks. But apparently, and I know this is hard to believe, but...

Stephens sucks worse. Is it possible? Could it really be possible that a QB could suck worse than Crompton? Apparently, it is. And that QB is Stephens.

This season is going to suck. Next season may not be much better. I have realized and accepted this. But I still bleed orange, and I'll still watch Crompton suck it up even if we're down 40-0.

Go Vols.

POST OF THE NIGHT! Too bad not everybody understands this. Even next year doesn't excite me as much as the recruiting part of it will. I love that process as much as seeing UT win in games. Good post amigo!

Lame excuse. Wyoming also fired its coach before the game. They didn't seem to have much trouble showing up to play.

The day Wyoming isn't up for the Vols is the day I lobby for us to go to the ACC. Although I hope for a "professional" attitude from coaches and players every game, the day the Vols have to "get up" for Wyoming will be a dark day indeed.

The "Wyoming Game" is by far the lamest excuse in the Vol World right now. If you want to talk about a nadir in Vol history, that is one.

And, oh, JC played in that game too. And he was probably rightfully rotated into the game.

Just as NS should have been this year.

Quick reminder: JC didn't win the Wyoming game either.

Lamest excuse in Vol Land right now for what is painfully apparent.

Crompton's stats from the Wyoming Game:

Wyoming (Nov. 8) 27 11 40.7 91 1 0 3.4 81.3

He had enough series to get 27 attempts in.

As I said, he was probably rightly rotated in that game. WE NEEDED A SPARK. Of course, it wasn't like we had a quality Swedish tinder kit to turn towards.
