I actually spent an entire month as a Vegan after my brother convinced me to watch "Meet Your Meat," the Alec Baldwin PETA video. I'm back to a "regular diet," but I do try to make more ethical choices in the supermarket. It's really hard to comprehend why we must handle animals with such cruelty. Such a dichotomy in our society between the "purse poodles" and livestock.

i don't have anything against vegetarians, if they want to go on that kind of diet, more power to them. but PETA is entirely different. that whole group is full of a bunch of idiots.

I was pescitarian for a little over a year. Unlike many that go veg, I never got the aversion to meat, damn bacon.

Does that mean you sit around watching old Joe Pesci movies all day?

It means the only protein I ate was fish. Great diet, just gotta be careful of weight gain. I will say, now that I am back to meat, I can't eat nearly as much as I previously could have.

Cook vegetables the right way and they taste much better than the best steak ever made IMO. Plus, I'll be healthier.

That really is a horrible video. I did something similar for my demonstrative speach in college, I got an A. My mom is a very active member of PETA. I remember one of many nights like this we were so pretty and ready to go out, heels, nails, hair, we were ON and I'll be danged if someone didn't run over a dog in front of us. She'd stop and I swear, we've moved probably 4 or 5 dogs to the side of the road that were still warm. My mom wanted to give the family a chance to find their pet and send them off the way they wanted. My :twocents:

Took some barbecued country style pork ribs off the grill earlier and they were mouth watering.

There was very little, if anything, in that video that made me question what I eat.

The scream of vegetable being ripped from the root still haunts me to this day. I'll stick to meat.

except you still need Vitamin D, protein, zinc, vitamin B-12 and you better make sure you're getting enough calcium.
