Seriously- I can probably only afford 2 games. What should I get first. *note* NCAA 08 is one of them:rock:

I love a good rpg, fighter, or 1st person shooter.

i think i'm takin the plunge and gettin a PS3 in a few wks

Had one since launch and I still can't come up with any reasons why I'd recommend buying one even now. 360s has more games, better performance on cross platform games, and an online network that's 10x better.

Maybe next year when Sony finally has the ball rolling. Right now it seems you're just overpaying for promises that haven't hit their marks yet.

I'd say at least wait until November (when Socom is targeted to come out) or when the actual pricedrop happens this year.

Those are great prices on games!! Thanks.

Is the Elite really worth it?? Do I really need a hard drive that size? What are the other benefits?

Unless you plan on downloading a lot of movies then no you do not need the larger HD. I personally have an external 230 gb My Book connected to my pc sharing to my 360 when I feel the need to play music, pictures, and vids through it.

I'm holding off on getting a 360 until after the release of the 65nm cpu version. By then, hopefully, Microsoft will have excised the ghosts in the machine.

I have the elite and for me the hdmi and the bigger hard drive was worth it. But like Smokey says it's not likely that you will need that much hard drive space and if you don't need hdmi input then you are probably wasting money. That 120gb hard drive is $179 on its own.

Accesories: another wireless controller if you have friends over. You have GOT to have some sort of rechargeable batteries. You can buy the actual xbox battery that is rechargeable but I prefer the energizer batteries with the rapid charger that charges them in about 15 minutes. I think the charger was about $15-$20 and I think the batteries are 4 for $10. It doensn't take long to come out ahead versus regular batteries.

I I had to pick one game besides NCAA it would have to be Gears of War. It's the game that most are still playing and I think it has the most long term appeal. I'm with Smokey in that my next choice would probably be Rainbow 6 Vegas. It's still a good game that has new map packs and a lot of people are still playing on line. It's a bit slower paced and more tactical than GOW. Gears is more run and gun.

BigdaddyVols told me that you can buy one year xbox live card for $35 on Amazon. Yearly is definitely the way to go on that. I think the same cards are $49.99 at Best Buy.

Microsoft - Xbox Live Gold 13-Month Subscription with Collector's Series Halo 3 Card Design - 52M-00010

The multiplayer terrorist hunt are a lot of fun, and you can also play the entire story mode in multiplayer.
