Fans are like relatives in that you don't get to chose them but you are connected with a common bond. With that being said, you damn sure don't have to sit back and listen to their crap when they talk out of their azz. You are absolutely justified in calling out any UT "fan" that would ever want the Vols to lose ANY game. Nice post Larkin!

as long as we're naming names...well, maybe I won't. But I do recall one thread after the UF game I believe, that was entitled something very close to, "I Hope We Lose the Rest of Our SEC schedule." A number of members took this poster to the woodshed, and she never recanted. I categorically disagree with any such sentiment, but you know what?...sentiments are the property of individuals; no law was broken.

Hello everyone.
Newbie here but a lifelong never left my Vols even when we were the often scolded stepchildren of Bear Bryant.
I never give up and always wear my orange and last game day I doubled it up hoping it would help.
Well I stand behind my VOLS Our tradition lies deep our roots are as old as some of the best schools around.

When I see a team claiming they OWN us and our beloved Stadium I think then is the time to fire it up for the team, for the fans, and more importanly our PRIDE HONOR and RESPECT.

For the Players on this board its time to get it done and bring the honor back to the HILL where it belongs.
GET FIRED UP AND LETS GO BARBQUE SOME DAWGS.

I have NEVER wanted for the Vols to lose. EVER. I have been to every home game since 2000 (save Arky. St.) when I was a lowly freshman and am now the proud owner of four seats in the lower bowl. I go to every game wearing orange and leave every game without a voice and a pounding headache. I have a wall in the rec room with every ticket stub, from every ut game I have been too. It is growing large. In 2004 I was in attendance for every second and every snap that UT played, home, away, SEC Championship, everything. I have camped with some of the best fans, and some of the fans that only want to get drunk and hang out, and they are all great people. I love nothing more than Volunteer Football. . . but I am a realist. After watching a not-as-great-as-we-first-thought UF team dismantle us, and watching our team GIVE UP I was a little upset. I have always been behind Fulmer, until he let me down in the middle of September.
When I see something I love so much going in a direction other than up, then I get pissed, and this year is the straw that broke the camels back.

GTH, what makes you think you are the voice of the Volunteer nation. I've supported this team through years when we lost to Southern Cal 43-7 and Georgia 44-0. Also lived in Alabama when we lost to the Tide eleven straight years. No one is pulling for the Vols to lose an individual game (Fulmer and his staff have proven the last eight years adept at doing that). However, most of us are ready for a change and if that means going seven and five instead of eight and four, so be it.

You Fulmerites remind me of the Japanese soldiers still in the jungles of the Pacific islands up into the 1980's, though dwindling in numbers, still loyal to the Emperor!

Just curious, If this thread was started by someone other than Larkin(co host of Volnation Live) would everyone be so quick to give it praise.:p I would never root for my Vols to lose. But I will be honest and tell you that I won't be jumping off any bridges if we lose. Because a loss is just another step toward a new regime in Knoxville.

Does it need a sticky? I didn't know that you had to smother praise upon the program at all times to be a true fan.

I promise to be a better fan at the Georgia game. I will not cuss Fulmer or Chavis. I will clap and cheer after every play. I will scream non-stop during the entire game. Maybe Hamilton will write me a letter about how great a fan I am. Or one telling me that I need to be quiet or I will lose my seats.
