I'm a UGA Pruitt believer

Kirby also had a great base of talent to start with. Regardless of what Richt didn't do at UGA, he always had a deep talent pool to work with.

That's going to end up being a huge difference between the two. Pruitt will have to rebuild that talent pool while Kirby inherited a reasonably stocked cabinet.[/QUOTE

^ THIS & Butch Jones beat him his 1st year with all that talent.

How could he?

The information that Pruitt has on Georgia far exceeds what Smart has on UT.

Talent matters, but big plays matter, too.

In my opinion the info Pruitt has on UGA isnt as big of a deal as the info he got from Saban.

I expect Pruitt to try and build a program in the mold of Bama, and to a lesser extent what UGA is trying to do now. It will be interesting to see these 3 teams battle it out for the same recruits. I expect each school to get solid wins on the recruiting trail.

As a dawg fan I loved Pruitt when he was here, and supported him being our head coach.

He is fiery, but will have to temper that on the recruiting trail somewhat.

I see UGA and UT battling it out in the east for the foreseeable future.

Did I hear something in one of CJP's pressers that he said he only gets one home visit per kid as HC?

You need to google this instead of just playing dumb. Schools are allowed to use academic exceptions that allow entry of kids that are below the school standard. There is no way of knowing whether or not the up to 4 per year that Vandy takes will qual at UT since we don't know how bad their grades are. We do know that UGA uses them and UT doesn't. Like I said, UT is one of 7 schools in the NCAA D1 that no longer (since '05-'06 time frame) allows athletic entries at sub UT entry requirements. Bama makes the most use of them but I think that Bama entry requirements may be a tad higher than UT's. Their academics are increasing there quite rapidly.

You could stand to be a little more polite, but I understand.

UGA's requirements are a good bit higher than Bama's. I know several kids in our area who tried to get into both schools and were denied by UGA, and accepted to Bama. I think the HOPE scholarship and the growth of Atlanta are the main reasons. I'm sure Bama is able to bend the rules more than most schools. They're basically a football school.

Dude you were a jerk in the UGA Fan thread. Don't come across as being nice. You aren't.

Edit: UGA's are probably higher than Bama's based on number of students applying. Bama is a bigger campus than UGA.

So you are saying those guys who can barely speak the English language would get accepted to UT even if they weren't athletes? That's something to be proud of?

You must be a terribly unhappy person IRL. All I see is insults from you towards pretty much everybody. Chill dude.

I don't know what size of campus has to do with quality, but here are the numbers (and I used Google).

Alabama
Total Enrollment - 37,665
Avg GPA - 3.69
College Ranking - 110

Georgia
Total Enrollment - 37,606
Avg GPA - 3.98
College Ranking - 54

My daughter sweated getting into UGA with a 4.2 GPA. Her best friend was not accepted to UGA, but was to Bama. After attending Bama for a year she applied to, and was accepted to, UGA. I know of many such cases where GA kids didn't get accepted to UGA but did Bama and other SEC schools.

Troll job? I've been here since 2008 and you since 2016. Who's the troll? :)

Don't take everything so personally and you'll see that my comments aren't "snide and backhanded". I just like talking SEC football.

You’re just so FOS. Look at these posts.

Pruitt will be fired in 2020, one year later than Fulmer will want to do it. Remember where you heard this.

Thank you! It's called exuberance. I've seen it here every season since '08 and it's what keeps me coming back. UT could field a team of girl scouts and some Vol fans would be figuring out a way they could beat Bama. I say this with affection. I love the UT spirit. Hell, they didn't recruit at the Alamo, they fought with what they had! :salute:

All you do is come here to defend your beloved puppies on a rival message board and add in your troll jobs occasionally. You were nowhere to be found after the 2015 and 2016 games. Wonder why?

I heard that as well. During an interview where he was discussing the changes in becoming HC he said one of his staff reminded him he only got one home visit.

It's probably a relief for all the head coaches. But, he only gets on shot to impress the parents at home.

I have no idea how you got that from my post but if that's what you want to believe, go ahead.

If you don't realize that you have been an absolute jerk in other threads, I can't help you.

I was giving GA a backhanded comment saying that their admission standards were higher most likely based on the number of applicants to go to school. UT has raised their's also. The basic requirements to apply are still there, the criteria to get accepted is higher due to number of applicants. Many times, OOS students will get a leg up on instate due to tuition amounts. That was happening when my kids were going through UT.

I really could care less about you, UGA, or Bama entry for non-athlete students. That's not what this discussion is about. Go educate yourself on academic exceptions for athletes. It's really not that hard. There are a few big words but you should be able to handle it.

I did a quick search and couldn't come back up with the posts from the UGA fan in Atlanta that told him he was being a jerk.

Thanks. I think I get it now. You’re not saying that UT has higher standards than afore mentioned schools, you’re just saying that UT has a policy to never bend the rules of qualification that UT has.

Exactly,
And it has really hurt Tenn IMO when players are legaly allowed by the NCAA and SEC are told no at Tenn when at our competition they can get in. (LEGALLY) Our Idiot bow tie wearing dork chancellor put this in about 2 years b4 Fulmer was let go, ask yourself how Tn has faired over the last dozen years.

10-4. Gonna keep my head on a swivel. Lol.

10-4? You had to remind me of the time we got lit at a CB enthusiasts house 30 years ago, and started serenading on channel 19. We either amused or POed every trucker in an 80 mile radius.
