..my youngest son is a dog lover and ever since he saw Smokey on TV, when he was about three, he has been a Tennessee fan...the fact that he can aggravate me is just a bonus... So for his tenth birthday I got the family tickets to Tennesse vs N.Illinois...

General questions: Locations for parking? We will be there early, what should we see? Good local places to eat? Other suggestions? Seats are in section W.

and yes, I'll be a Vol Fan for the day...Looking forward to the Neyland experience

Sorry if this is the wrong board for this, first time poster here.

my guess is that parking will not be an issue and that you can trade up for some fabulous tickets if you just look around for a little while.

Lastly, I don't think you'll be in for a true Neyland experience. Neyland with 75K on board just feels like another stadium.

Get here early.

Make sure he sees the Vol Walk and the band forming the T.

Sucks you're coming to see Neyland when it's going to be only about 3/4 full.

I predict that you will have your pick of parking. Also eat at Littons, they have great burgers there

I understand, but tickets were thru a friend at a very good price, almost free...

I think that his comment has more to do with the current state of the program that the opponent we'll be playing. I hope you guys enjoy the game!...but seriously..you could probably trade up to good seats fairly easily if things go the way we think they could at Auburn on Saturday.

hope you and your family enjoy the game. i expect low attendance due to the current state of the program as well. you know you'll have to make this a yearly tradition

As for eats, here's my pick:

Gus's Goodtimes Grill just because everyone has eaten there once. Good greasy hangover killing food.

I would say stay as close to Campus as you can. Gus's is good, Copper Cellar, Moes is a safe bet, Cool Beans has good burgers but is not kid friendly. If you are up for a hike or short drive you can go to Calhouns on the river. Keep in mind most of these places will be crowded and there will be rowdy fans anywhere you go, NIU is a good choice for a first game though.

The ten year old will appreciate that...

All the orange and Tennessee memorabilia for the 10 year old.

There really isn't that many good places to eat around the stadium.

Calhoun's is overrated in my opinion.

Ye Olde Steakhouse is a good ways down Chapman.

Nami's kicks ass, but I don't know if a 10 year old would eat sushi.

Barley's has great pizza, but it's a bar too.
