He earned all my respect last night. The display of anger in front of the rest of the team and the nation is what I have waited for all year. That was 1000%different than the spineless jellyfish of a coach we got during the GA St game. He didn't abuse anyone and if you think that, you have head problems. Getting JGs attention like that was entirely appropriate and I've seen Nick Saban do it too.

JG is literally a game ruiner and coach let him know immediately that he screwed up mammothly. I personally hope JG doesn't see the field the rest of the year. I only wish his scholarship could be given to another player. He I'm sure is a good kid personally but results trump attitude every day in the SEC. Gotta have a baller at QB and we currently don't have any. I hope Maurer is getting tougher and tougher with each hit he takes.

It's cool if you disagree with this. I'm just putting it out there that if Pruitt continues to display leadership like that then I support his efforts.

Pruitt is not the problem. We have to weed out this team. So many good players mixed with some overrated ones to be kind. All of these losses over the last couple of three years are due to the one common denominator.
You can see it changing with every game. I think good things are on the horizon for this program. We went toe to toe with the #1 team in the country last night and if not for having to beat the officials too, might have pulled off the biggest upset of the year. Feeling better for sure

Enjoy it while you can folks! The haters have given you about all the time allowed to be "happy" about the effort last night. They will be in here shortly with their cutesy, childish memes to remind you about GA State and the whiteboard kick. As we speak, they are putting a narrative together; IMO they will never acknowledge the progress that should be obvious.

Pruitt lost me when he put in JG. JG sucks and ultimately it’s on Pruitt for having him in the game.
Yeah, Shrout did so well when he was in. The only real option was to put in JG and hope he could not lose the game like Mississippi State. Shrout looked like Nathan Peterman vs. Florida when he came in.

I wish they would. Nothing about him kicking that whiteboard made me like him less as a coach.

I don't want to JG on the field in a VOL jersey again. /rant

I couldn't get there in time, so JG was his only option. wtf dude? Is he supposed to go all Kentucky and run the wildcat all night long?

The JG hatred on VN is close to TDS in stature.

Correct. We’ll be a much better team when a handful of the seniors that start and have to play are gone next year. Many of younger players are studs are gonna be very, very good going forward.

How'd Shrout work out for ya?
Pruitt had to put in JG after injury to Maurer. I have no problem with that. But JG should be the third QB now and not take another snap at UT unless an emergency situation happens. Why do people continue to think JG is an SEC QB? He can't throw the deep ball. He can't read defenses. He can't pick up a blitz. He can't run. He finished the game 7/16 for 55 yds. He missed a wide-open Jennings near goal line that would have been a TD. Who knows what the call was supposed to be on the goal line but I'm pretty sure it wasn't for JG to jump up and toss the ball into the endzone so Bama could return it for a TD.

So how did JG work out for ya?

Who made any of those claims?

So here it is, bright guy. Pruitt has said all along that the QBs were not as along as he wanted them. JG was proven but is now a total headcase that would struggle in a little league game right now. Shrout obviously does not understand the playbook as proven last night. Hopefully Chaney can work with him as the backup and get him up to speed better. We would have potentially had two injured QBs last night had Shrout played more. I will not be surprised if JG is gone in the very near future after his play last night. It is obvious Pruitt is tired of the current ineptitude and lack of progress. JG is broken and could probably use a change of scenery at a lower tier school. Shrout will have to step it up for the rest of the year.

I agree that CJP earned a lot of respect tonight. But let's not get carried away with the "we played them toe to toe" language. Losing Tua was monumental for them. Don't get me wrong, I am really proud of the grit and determination but if Tua wasn't hurt, I think the game is very different.

It's not about Pruitt losing US, it's about the fact that Pruitt and the coaching staff have lost at least JG and likely others.

One of the biggest play calls of the game and JG lacks the confidence in the called play and goes rogue...... think about it.

Maybe JG wanted glory of the 6, but he could've hit the hole the play opened...... he didn't.

Either JG just lacks the football IQ to play for TN..... OR..... the coaching staff isn't instilling enough faith and discipline in the team.

Les Miles has my respect he has the one of the WORST teams over last 10 years in Div 1 and a recruiting ranking of 60 71 70 and 73 last 4 years playing 100x better than they are !! Thats what GOOD coaches do!

I think with Miles we beat GS BYU UF and yes Bama last night

Pruitt well he can run on the sideline

Sorry folks Pruitt has showed NOTHING compared to Miles and even Mack Brown
