If you're honest with yourself, this is what we saw.

What I saw at the end of the game with 9 seconds was a td from Miss St that was not called for. They had the game won with the ball on the 9 yard line. They didn't need to score. They didn't need to rub it in. Shame on Coach Mullen for doing that. What comes around goes around. That was just a very low blow on Miss St's part.

Ordinarily I would agree with your statement, however Miss St. is fighting for respect in the SEC and the better the stats the better Mullen and Miss St. look. Of course a highlight reel catch helps.

You are exact in your analysis. Sometimes the truth hurts. This is going down as a very bad hire but that's what you get when you take chances on coaches that have not proven themselves. What is really pitiful is Dooley sported a losing record at La Tech and TN still gave him the lofty contract.

This reply is another sad example of the general level of football intelligence of our fanbase. Aside from the obvious (and dead-accurate) retort of "if you don't like them scoring, then stop them," going for it on 4th down was absolutely the correct decision there. A FG makes it a 6 point game and they'd have to kick off to a team that had already taken it to the house. If they turn the ball over on downs there, we've got 1 play from our own 9 yard line.

It's the right coaching decision, albeit with a marginal benefit. Good coaching, something we've never seen under the current administration, is simply making these sorts of decisions on a consistent basis.

I think we all know that TN would not be able to go 90 yards in 9 seconds. State did not need to run the score up. A field goal there would have been enough damage. They could still win with some class without doing this to TN. The right coaching decision or not, I don't think he (Mullen) would of liked that in his face if he was on the losing end of the game. JMO sorry if that's the wrong opinion. Sometime down the road, I hope it happens to him & his team with 2 seconds on the clock.

We have beaten the crap out of them for a long time. They were paying us back. That is all. The "comes around goes around" thing is what they were thinking.

We saw one team that was bigger, faster, stronger and more athletic and had 2 weeks to prepare.

The other team had mediocre talent with a few exceptions but they were well prepared, well coached and thus played like a team and made few mistakes.

You can hate me, bash me or ignore me. But if you're honest you know this is true.

I really dislike your attitude on this board. That being said I agree with you. Our D is so poorly coached it isn't funny. I'm 30 and this is the worst D I can remember. It's embarrassing.

Mullin can coach

Yes he likey can coach...but if you were offered wide open passing lanes, I would expect you to see that and take advantage of it. TN secondary is pitiful, and the weak link on the D. So, a 3-4 cannot succed if the secondary cannot close, or cover. Cannot win games with this set up.

You and many others mistake my matter of factness as a bad attitude. But that's fine with me.

I think you have good points sometimes. You also give yourself to much credit also. That being said, something has got to give with this program.

You don't risk a blocked kick in that situation. 2 options are to let qb step back and take a knee after running a few more seconds off the clock or do what they did. Not like they were up 3 scores and ran the score up. They simply put the game out of reach. Low risk / high reward play call. We could learn from it
Better yet next time make a stop on 3rd down and dont allow them to march down the field on a clock eating drive. But that's too much to ask

What? If they kick a FG they're up six and have to kick the ball to us with time for a kick return or pooch it and we get a throw to the endzone. I thought it was a brilliant move.

Yep, at worst case on that play QB kills more time off the clock by running a play and if he's sacked or throws it away we get the ball with little to no time and have to go 90+ yards. Some people can't comprehend strategy.
