I for one was very quick to jump on the bUTch train but today reminded me how low low our program has sunk. Sorry everyone but ol Dooley pulled a top 15 class with the same amout of time in his first clean up effort. Bell a life long vol fan even didn't jump on board.

Heres to hoping this guy can coach up players cause we gona hafta win a few were not suppose to to get recruits again in the SEC.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't Dooley pull a top 15 class with less than two weeks..that Kiffin MOSTLY put together?

Bell even said himself Dooley is the reason he isn't coming. I'm content. I wouldn't say happy. But you're right about coaching. We gonna need it

If you're starting a thread with your and insinuating how people should feel - you might be a jack ass.

Bell's own dad said the reason he didn't pick UT was because of Dooley and Dooley's lack of interest in his son. So, Dooley screwed us on this Bubby.

I am far from happy but he did the best job he could do...we are the laughing stock of the SEC the last three years.

Shove your true fandom in a dark room and see if it grows branches.

Yep...but it was a dumpster fire, so he gets a massive amount of credit for holding it together, and pulling in some huge fish on his own (Hunter and Rodgers), and even snagged a 4* RB...while we TOTALLY whiffed at that position, today. Kiffin had it worse. He took over a team that had seen a serious deterioration of talent....because of recruiting classes like today, over the span of a few years.

If Butch had done like he said he was going to do...hire the best staff in the country, he would have left all but his OC back at Cincinnati....hired Randy Shannon, Ellis Johnson or Tyrone Nix, then R. Garner and pulled a few from the NFL ranks. THAT would have helped him pull in a top 10 class.

Instead, he chose to lie to the team, program, and fanbase, and ride with his Big East bros...letting them pocket the money that was supposed to go toward hiring better qualified candidates.

What if Dooley had done a similar thing...bring 80% of his La Tech staff? Think this class is in the doldrums. That first class of Dooley's would have been in the shiiter for sure. What we witnessed over the past 2 months is that scenario being played out.

I don't think you can base anything off of this class. The coaches had 7 weeks and part of that was a dead period. They did well to keep a class together at all. I am happy to have the coaches we have and I am definitely a true fan.

I am a Vol fan, but my happiness is not based on what a group of 18-22 year old do with a football, basketball, or baseball.

Dooley had a bunch of recruits that Lane had been pumping up for a year. Butch had a Bunch of recruits Dooley hadn't talked to in six months. Butch did a good job in two months. If he is that strong with two months to recruit, he will be very strong recruiter. People didn't think his class would be this strong when he got here but he did a good job. I'm excited about coach Jones, it's obvious, and i'm a pessimist by nature.
